I drove past a McDonald's this morning and on their big yellow marquee were these words:
BAGELS ARE BACK

I very much doubt that whatever McDonald’s is selling would pass for a bagel in Chicago or New York.

I drove past a McDonald's this morning and on their big yellow marquee were these words: BAGELS ARE BACKI thoroughly enjoy a good bagel but I'd prefer skipping McDonalds. I'll stop there for the grands but otherwise the service and attitudes have a repellant kind of effect. I always found good bagels in NYC... but the best I've ever tasted was a rye bagel from the Bagel Bizzare in Menlo Park, N.J.. If you happen by there, make plans to get there before 9 am. The rye bagels disappear early. The flavor will explain why.

It may not be genuine but it's probably tasty. McDonald's is very good at coming up with consumer-tested additions to the menu.

As is well known on the Soundhole, I am a Culver's guy all the way. In fact, when I passed that McD's today, I was en route to pick up one of these guys: With a 25% veterans discount!

Bill, Bill.
I live in New York, where we have the best bagels (of course, people from Toronto dispute this claim).
Additionally, my doctor has me on a gluten-free diet.
But hey—thanks for thinking of me!!

An NY-area bagel is pretty much the only time I eat capers. I have no idea what they are, but they just really belong on that bagel (as does the Nova and everything else in that picture).
It had been 6 months since my last visit, and I feel I am due another bagel.

They work very well with salmon. Very tasty.

I really wish it was spelled or pronounced differently than the synonym for an adventure. My wife no longer gets excited when I say a caper is on the menu for the day.

And wouldn’t McDonald’s call them McBagels? McBagels with McLox and McCapers. Get the McBagels Happy Meal and you get a McDreidel in the box.
