Is My first medical bill from earlier this summer has shown up in my patient portal. They used to send a paper bill in the mail and I'd mail them a check. Now I suppose you have to print out the invoice yourself and mail it in with payment... printing paper is cheap but inkjet cartridges aren't. I really don't want to pay medical bills by credit card. Anyone else feel the same way?
Why not pay with a credit card? It’s easy, more secure than sending a check, and if anything were to go wonky, you are protected. We have viirtually everything on auto pay with a couple cards. We pay all our cards off every month so there is no interest charge. In forty or so years of using cards we have had like three times the cards were compromised. Each time the cardholder quickly reversed charges and issued new cards. Problem with debit cards is if there is a problem, 1, the bad guys may have access to your money, and 2, the banks will want to investigate what went wrong and that may take some time. And if it’s your fault, you are SOL. So…credit cards yes, debit cards no. Mike
Yes, this is what I did. I never use a debit card to pay for anything. I just get these strange notions about this sort of thing sometimes, but do pay off my card in full each month.

While there are still a few of our accounts that I pay by paper check (mostly because they levy a convenience fee for credit card transactions), we run medical, dental, and travel payments through our main card, which provides an annual categorized summary that is very handy at tax time or when I need to tote up reimbursable medical expenses.
But I am kind of annoyed that our giant medical provider would rather have me look at a PDF on their portal than send out a paper bill that I can mark up and put in a folder. I'm that much an old fart, I guess.

There are times, when looking at these things online and stressing, that I wish I could pass through one of those portals into another dimension.

I'm having a lovely day enjoying the process of a colonoscopy prep for surgery tomorrow. They'll be reversing an ileostomy and I am very much looking forward to getting nearer to the end of what has been a long and unexpected chapter in my life.

Mercy or Virginia Gay?

Good luck Tood, we're going to miss you tomorrow night un Garrison. Not sure which is more fun, colonoscopy prep or playing music outside on a very humid, 93 degree, day.

Having had experience with both, I can say with confidence that the colonoscopy prep is a lot more fun.

How about colonoscopy prep while playing music outside on a 93 degree hot, humid day?
