Good morning. It's cool again this morning, which is delightful. I'll start the day with a walk in the mountain preserve.
I played Wordle about as badly as anyone could. Twice I made guesses that had letters where I already knew they couldn't be. I must have been still asleep.
Be of good cheer.

Happy Anniversary to Shannon and Kathy.
Hot, hot, hot here today. High of 100° with heat indices of 112-115. And we have a funeral to attend. I guess we will cool off when we get home. I hope.
Ice in your pants will make you feel cooler. Try it.

Hello from Brooklyn!
Best wishes to Shannon and Kathy for hanging tough and keeping the faith all these years.
Another medical appointment for me this afternoon. I guess that, since retiring, I have been trying to catch up with all the health stuff that was difficult to address because my former company made it difficult to take time off for appointments. None of my doctors have office hours on Sundays. You don't clock in on time? You lose pay and your lateness is recorded. You clock out midday? You lose pay. I do not miss that place.
Not much to say today, except that nine days ago I was restringing a guitar, and the high e string wouldn't tune up. It stayed at the same low pitch. Further investigation revealed that the windings at the ball end were UNwinding as I turned the tuning peg. I photographed the offending problem, sent the picture with details to D'Addario, and two days later I had a new e string AND a complete new set of EJ-17s. Now, THAT is customer service.
The evidence:
Have a great day, folks.

Good morning. Happy anniversary to Shannon and Kathy!
I'm getting ready to head out to the Hernando County Democratic headquarters to do some volunteer work. After that it's back to the daily routine.
Have a great day folks.

This gives me a great idea for an invention. Chillable gel-filled underwear!
(Sorry about the funeral, though.)

Happy ANNIVERSARY Shannon.
Today my big plan is to make a grocery run.
The fundraiser gig yesterday had me fearful of my life, the "feels like" temperature at the Vinton Airport, at 3:55 yesterday was 117 degrees and we were planning to play outdoors, starting at 5:00.
Sanity prevailed and the activities were moved into the community room at the library. A beautiful, air-conditioned room. We played 2 hrs non stop and enjoyed every minute of it.
After, I drove by the Mercantile, the front was roped off and an excavator, with a jackhammer attachment, was sitting on the street. Progress!

Today I will wash the trailer and put it away in the garage. We have one more camping trip planned, but that’s not until the end of Sept. if it’s not too hot after that I will edge the lawn. That is probably the day. Wordle in four.

Horribly hot and humid
So hot that most schools are closed. Today was to have been our eldest granddaughter’s first day of 7th grade. When school is canceled, what better thing to do than have The Last Sleepover of the Summer. Three preadolescent females slept late and are now making cupcakes. I am hiding in the basement sorting old photos and restringing a guitar.
Happy Anniversary to Shannon and Kathy!

Happy 36th Anniversary to Shannon and Kathy.
Work continues on my notice of retirement to my clients. I finally have my list together. Now I just need to learn how to format the the names and addresses and merge them into my letter.

Nothing like a funeral when the temperature is 93°, in a non air conditioned church with windows open, five big fans running full speed, and thick, sweet, heavy, incense hanging in the air like a storm cloud over the lake. I haven’t felt that sick, hot, and uncomfortable since my altar boys days! Brought back horrible memories.

I feel for you, drlj. Sounds awful.
I hope you're feeling much improved now.

I mentioned that I made the trip to Indianapolis on Sunday to visit family -- specifically, my nephew, Peter, who lives in England now has made a rare trip back to the States. I had a nice visit -- about 40 family members showed. But Peter's son, Solomon, is a guitar player who just graduated university with a degree in music journalism. My sister has suggested I bring a guitar with me (and she texted me "Ask Solomon about guitar") So I did. Solomon is 21. You know what songs he played when I handed him my guitar? Blackbird, Dust In The Wind, and Ventura Highway. This uncle's kinda happy.
