It is in Zurich.
Nothing but delays but we've made our connections.
We are boarded for Kilimanjaro for the next 9 hour leg.
No, haven't slept a wink.

Good morning. I hope the rest of your travel goes well Evan. I'm up early to do some volunteer work, clearing invasive plant species at the Big Pine Nature Preserve. After that I've got the Crystal River song circle this afternoon followed by my daily workout and bike ride. Have a great day folks.

I am fairly sure it is Tuesday here. It’s a cool morning. Feels like fall is coming.

Evan, it's never too late for adventure. Good on you.
Good morning, everyone. Yesterday morning I had coffee with a friend and we wound up talking for over three hours. We got most of life's enigmas sorted out.
I spent yesterday afternoon finishing an appeal document to file with the City relating to a wall in our yard that crosses a utility easement. I spent part of that time in a neighbor's back yard photographing her walls and fences and chatting with her. Although this task is something of a headache I'm enjoying parts of it. I'm not enjoying the City's electronic filing system, which I have been unable to operate. They have a department to assist ordinary humans with the software and I hope to connect with them this morning. I'm not really equipped to deal with our increasingly digital world.
Enjoy your day.

PS: Wordle in three was sheer luck. After two guesses, there were four possible answers. My first guess was right.

Good morning.
56F-79F sunny.
I have so much to do to make up for being gone for a week. Shop work, laundry, house work and we still need more wood chips for the front garden. Groceries too as we had to throw out a whole lot of stuff in the fridge and freezer due to the *power outages while we were gone. I'll throw a load of laundry in after breakfast and then see what DaWife has in mind.
* Same storm killed my mouse so I have a new mouse and keyboard. The mouse is pretty much the same as the old one and that's just fine. New keyboard has a softer touch and more features than the really old wired one. I didn't realize how bad that thing was.

Lovely clear September morning.
Dropped eldest granddaughter off at school and retrieved her backpack from her Mom's place. Laundry and some IdiotJam prep ahead.

Hi, all.
Her Grace is off to a little gathering with friends in the park in Manhattan, for a final get-together before school starts on Thursday. Hard to believe that little peanut is 17 and going into her senior year, applying for college, etc. We got lucky with this child—no substance abuse, no hanging out at night, no dating, serious about her studies.
I was kind of badgered into lending my H&D OM to a friend around the corner who has a recording studio, for one of his clients who will be recording today. He assured me that this person is a pro, and very focused guitar player, not a wild strummer. I'll bring the guitar over and hang while they record, and carry it home later. This is not a normal thing for me, lending a guitar to someone I don't know, but I'll be there the entire time, so I suspect that will help. The guitar is 24 years old and I have kept it in very nice condition. I expect it to remain that way.
Now for some late breakfast and a bit of puttering. Have a good day, folks.

For those that may not have seen my post in the Ijam Section! We had a death in the family over the weekend. A close cousin of my wife's passed quite unexpectedly. Visitation is this Thursday evening, and it is in a community near us. We will be in attendance, and that means that we will NOT be able to host the pre-Ijam get together that we have done the past few years.
We are truly sorry that we can not make all of this work, but this guy was like family to me, and we need to be there and hope you all understand. I know that Dub and Fiddlerina are working on some kind of alternative for those arriving early, so check that out.
We will be at the Beast & Bird on Friday, and plan on making all of the other events that weekend. Deb extends her regrets as she looks forward to this as much as I do.

It’s a guitar. It’ll be fine.
I have had some not so happy experiences in the past that included a deep gash on the back of a guitar that someone took out of its case at a friend's home in upstate NY a number of years ago. I was asleep at the time but the party raved on, and no one asked permission to play it. Made me a little sensitive to lending them out.

There is a difference between letting someone use it to record while you are there to monitor the situation and some jerk who had too many beers pulling a guitar out of the case at a party. Of course, things can still happen even when people are careful & responsible. It’s less likely, though. If you really are concerned, there is nothing wrong with saying no.

Agreed.
No was my initial reply, but they were out of options, so I told my friend I'd do it just this once. Just got a text saying there are SNAFUs and they are way behind. Glad I panned my day! 😜

The cycle of life all contained in this thread.
Lovely photo of you and grandson, Don.
The guitar loan thing went fine. Super nice young musician whose composition is sort of Frank Zappa-esque, but he wanted to triple-track some acoustic guitar and didn't have one on hand. He commutes between New York and Los Angeles and is from San Diego, originally.
Not exactly my cup of tea, but I'm open to new sounds.

My wife took a photo of me and our grandson. It's your choice, Don, but if it were me, I would not flip off my new grandson.

I am suddenly giggling over the memory of a long-ago caption send-up from a Navy buddy who in an email attached a photo of Ronald Reagan on horseback, taken from behind, that read: "President Ronald Reagan, top, ... "
