Hi, Todd. Sorry to be so late in sending my best wishes. I've been traveling and haven't opened my laptop much.

Morning Todd. I hope you had a restful night. My memories of being in the hospital (for open heart surgery) were that they came around every few hours for blood draws and the food sucked. Hopefully you are having a better experience. Anyway, thinking of you. Get well.

The hospital food may or may not suck because he isn't getting any--all intravenous at this point. |

Several IdiotJammers visited Todd in the hospital over the weekend. I stopped by enroute to Vinton on Thursday evening and yesterday morning on the return trip.
Todd is doing well. He is now allowed to transfer from bed to chair without assistance and to take laps around the floor without a walker, pushing a rack of IV concoctions. The nurses and techs like him because he is constantly joking with them. He thinks he might escape sometime this week.

Todd, while you convalesce I will regale you with tales of the Maasai. There are many here in Masailand. Duh. So the group in this area, same as those in Kenya, are known as Waarusha. At one time all Maasai were Waarusha but the group forced south in the 60s have become known as Parakuyo. The culture is very much the same with differences in cloth, decoration, etc. The walk, the way they lean on their stick...all the same. But language has diverged enough that they can have small difficulty following each other.

We never saw the full Kilimanjaro. One day the peak, another day, the rest.
Animals are all through our village of Engikaret, especially giraffe. Also Impala and meerkat. And I assume their predators.

How odd that they would name an animal after a Chevy. They named the Mayor of Milwaukee after a Chevy (Cavalier Johnson) so why not an animal? |
