I did get my girl out of the damn house by promising her breakfast at the Little Oven. Threw our shopping bags in the truck before we left and then drove straight to HyVee after breakfast. She grumbled but she went. We did enough shopping to make sure we are almost supplied until we leave for Kauai. Unlike our Key West trip I will purge the fridge before we leave in case there is another power outage while we are gone.

Purge the Fridge was a new wave punk band that originated here, in Far Rockaway, and went on to be a one-hit wonder with the tune, "Nineteenth Freon Breakdown." They played many gigs at CBGB in its heyday, late 1970s to early 1980s.

I'm ready to move into assisted living. Home ownership is a royal pain. Drywall/tile guy was prompt and we know that he does good work. He does want $600 for the job, so there's that. Plumber didn't finish until noon. We did some on-line looking at tiles and went to Home Depot. Turns out that the only 4x4 ceramic tile that they carry in the store is white. We wanted a contrasting color rather than a white that might not be the same white. So we went to a tile store. Our first choice was on back order. For our second choice they had enough in stock to do the job but not enough extras to make us feel comfortable. So we came home with our third choice.
So here it is after 2:30 PM and I've pretty well done nothing today. Plus our only walk was across the parking lot and in the store at Home Depot.
I am thankful that the water is back on and that we have 2 bathrooms with showers. And that in the grand scheme of things, the money we're spending is nothing. And that we still have it together well enough to make it all happen.
Tomorrow should be a more productive and less stressful day. Mr. H does have an afternoon medical appointment. The next day is booked for 2 appointments for him and 1 for me, plus choir practice. So work on the shower resumes Friday morning.

The moderators are in total agreement that next comes a permanent ban. And what you did here is NOT a collaboration. You did not consult with Tricycle Magazine and create something that you and they both agreed to. Don't do it again. We have our collective fingers poised over a hair trigger ready to end this nonsense.

You're talking about something for another three months (I didn't consult 6/3/24) It seems like I have "red flag" in my SH file. Put one green flag in my file --- it means "Go" and positively with my right foot with gas - I better going SLOWLY with my right foot (I had too tickets with the Jagwires)

I had an interesting thing that I wanted to do it - edited a thought I was really smart to not put it on Soundhole Hole - And The Moderators wrote me - it was kind of a waste of time for the Mods and Me - also
I got a letter that my son and his kid are some real problem with 'Foster Care' Jackson is there someplace with 'foster parent' My son has got some horrible genetic issues - violence.(his mother's father was violent man) I've got a find out Jackson Dante - my grandkid is ok - you'll be OK if a mini-issue. Kids are very flexible - and he's just a kid he won't even think about Foster Care /Violence - 18 months
I'm waiting some emails - Juvenile Court (judge or atty)

I feel your pain, Renée. Last year we lived in our apartment for four months while contractors did a total gut renovation on our kitchen. Large sheets of plastic separated that space from our living space, and we put together a jury-rigged "kitchenette" in the living room. It has been a year since the work was finished, and it's all in the rear-view mirror now. We have been enjoying the convenience and extra flexibility (and tons more storage space) since then. The process usually sucks, there are hiccups and bumps along the way, but once it all gets sorted out, it feels pretty good.
Bonus: our brains are wired to forget pain.
