I think Detroit is the best team in football (and I placed a preseason $50 on them to win the Super Bowl, +850). Losing Hutchinson hurts (though it sure didn't show against the Vikings). But, if they are able to swing a deal for Maxx Crosby (Raiders DE that wants out), oh my goodness!
Anyway, the Lions' future is glowing bright.
As for the Vikings, they are doing a lot better than anyone other than the coach's mother expected them to. A few lucky draft picks and a sprinkle of fairy dust and they will be all right.
Right now, by record and point differential (how many more points you score than you give up), the four best teams in football are in the NFC North: Vikings, Lions, Packers, Bears! (ranked alphabetically)
(to be prudent, I should probably place another $50 on the Ravens. Then I will have it covered and I can buy that Corvette I so richly deserve.)

Yeah, Maxx Crosby would be awesome. Another local Michigan boy. Grew up in Lapeer and played his college ball at Eastern Michigan University, my alma mater. The perfect compliment to Aiden when he gets healthy. High school at Divine Child, about a mile from the house I grew up in, and played his college ball at U of M (if I recall correctly) where I got my MBA. Homeboys. I love it.
