The Lions are loaded and looking good and are a top pick to reach the Super Bowl.
And the Tigers, Holy Cow, the Tigers, after years of basement dwelling, have a young, talented team and are now only three games out of the final ALC Wild Card spot in the playoffs, nipping at the heels of the sadly faltering Twins with only 16 games left to play.
There will likely be three teams from the Central Division in the ALC playoff. A record. The fourth Central Division team, the White Sox, are now 51 games out of first place. Also a record.

Tigers overtake Minnesota and are a game up, tied with Kansas City.
Good time to be a Detroit fan.

Yesterday I was torn between da Bears and Indiana. I finally decided being a Hoosier trumped being a Chicago suburb—an Indiana suburb, which isn’t always afforded the status of an Illinois suburb, anyway. I picked wisely!

Poor Twins.
But, the Vikings are a very pleasant surprise.
And the Lynx are a powerhouse!
But, feel good about the Tigers. It's been a long, dark, stretch for the Tigers, but they are following the Lions out of the basement. They have a good young club with lots of young pitching. I like Cleveland, too. Twins or no Twins, I hope the Central throttles the East and West (especially the East... Damn Yankees!)
And it looks like the White Sox are going to have a record breaking season of their own.
Go Central!

There are lynch mobs forming for the Offensive Coordinator. 1st and goal from the 4, and their strongest fullback sits on the bench while he tries to punch it in with flyweight backs and a line that proved all game long (all season?) they are not able to handle the opponents front 4.

Here's a picture of the 4th down and goal play. Note that 4 offensive lineman are laying on the ground.

Wow, both Detroit and KC are advancing. KC sweeps Baltimore with the Yankees next. And Detroit sweeps Houston with Cleveland on deck. Pretty cool!
No Twins, but I have two teams I am pulling for. Both are Cinderella stories. Two young teams up from the bottom that have turned the corner. Three of the final four AL teams are from the Central Division. Go Central!
And KC, kick some Yankee ass!

And Tigers, kick some Yankee ass! I was out walking the dogs when an old friend in Michigan messaged me that the Tigers won. I hadn't paid attention to the fact that these first series are best 2 of 3 and not 3 of 5 so I didn't realize that that series was done. Then later I messaged her back when I realized that they could be past Cleveland (booooo!) and into the league championship before the Lions play again. Good time to be a Detroit fan. A hard-core and long suffering Detroit fan.
