Just back from Cedar Rapids with my new 2024 Prius. Now to figure out how it all works. Just got a txt from the car, telling me the doors are unlocked. It's quieter than the 2018 and has more power, and is supposed to get better milage, 57 mpg combined City and highway.
We have reserved a new Prius for a little drive out to the East End of Long Island this weekend. I have never driven one before now, and am curious.
This is my 3rd Prius, obviously I like them. I gotta check drivers vertical seat position, it's very low which limits visibility some when parking. Took a big trip to Vinton and after completing the return trip the display said the car was running in EV (battery power) mode 50% of the trip. Milage was 57.3 mpg. Hope you have a pleasant experience.

Thanks, Daryl! We'll be doing highway for about two to two and a half hours, then mostly local stuff for the day, and of course, then the return trip. I'll post about our experience.
Our brawny upstairs neighbor will be hanging out here off and on with his Rottweiler, looking after our dog.

A pleasant weather day in Hooterville. It might be time to smoke a brisket. But first I will pick up mail from the office and take a stroll at the dog park.

Well, my workweek is just about over, and it was a tough one -- a key vacation absence on the features desk, some special sections that added to the workload greatly, and other headaches.
But! The weekend weather appears to be great and I am looking forward to treating Miss Babzi to an elegant Sunday brunch to mark a milestone birthday. We will dine at a wildly popular Venezuelan place in St. Paul, Crasqui, named after a beautiful isle off Venezuela's coast.

The tile guy arrived on time this morning and is hard at work replacing the backing and tile in our shower.
Yesterday was long and stressful. On our morning walk, Mr. H tripped on a gopher hole and tore up his right hand and had smaller cuts on both arms. We managed to get him cleaned up and we got showered and fed and dressed for our 9:30 and 10:00 AM dermatologist appointments. In the afternoon I took Mr. H to Costco and I shopped while he got his new hearing aids. They didn't have half of the items on our short list. And we now have to ask for hearing aid batteries at checkout. (The packaging changed to a small box and people were stealing them. Amazing at $7.99 for 48 batteries.) Driving home I had to go across the river and far out of the way because the street to our neighborhood was blocked off. We walked over there this morning and it was open with no sign of what the problem was. Last night I took a guitar to choir practice because I was asked to play this Sunday. The director was supposed to provide an amp, but didn't have time to stop and pick it up at his apartment. He ran into a serious traffic problem and a closed major street where a motorcyclist had died. A few choir members were late because of that mess. I got to practice with the choir and piano, but nobody else could hear the guitar.
But all 3 of our appointments went well and we don't have to go anywhere today. Can't go anywhere while the tiler is here. And we're thawing shrimp for scampi that will go nicely with a bottle of wine tonight. Overall, life is still good.

There's a several here at Soundhole Cafe - "you are a thief" I went to see the Yankee/Boston baseball and of course the eastern AL are not in the Bay Area channels. I should know that I've living here for 50 years. I was there for an hour- Mexico tennis and Pittburgh/KC baseball - a little boring I watched in a huge room with a table and a lots of chairs and a large TV The Bennett Community has a big kitchen and they don't do anything with it. I found glass large bowl in my Senior Bennett kitchen I've been told it's a "community" so I kept it A few people say “it's a thief” but it's “a sharing item” I'll come back to the kitchen if I buy another one - possibly It's time to come to my apartment - do something musical

Those of us in parts of the country where the population is measured with less than 6 digits will probably need to wait a while.

I'd been wondering about this. The rally took place on the edge of our neighborhood (and the parking sprawled well beyond it), and the road work was indeed suspended and closed streets opened to accommodate the motorcade (which passed a block from our house). Big crowds showed up early, but we did see people leaving before Trump had finished speaking. Just sayin'. www.startribune.com/donald-trump-rally-st-cloud-cost/601143281FYI: EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU excerpt) - Eau Claire hosting stops for two presidential campaigns on the same day left some residents wondering who footed the bill for city services related to those events. According to the Eau Claire City Manager’s Weekly Update, the city has a new system in place for campaign events not held on city-owned properties. The process requires event venues to add a public safety charge to their bill when they contract with a campaign, the update explained. The event venue then reimburses the city for its services. For the Harris-Walz campaign event held at the Eau Claire Event District, the city was reimbursed $16,000 for public safety expenses. Since Vance’s event was at a smaller venue, the Trump-Vance campaign didn’t require any services that would have had a cost attached.

My wife’s Prius has been with us for 16 years. Still runs like a top, with every 6 month tune ups only one major repair. Wife loves it and won’t hear of upgrading.

It arrived at the dealer last Wednesday night. That night 3 car hauling semis arrived at the dealership, 26 vehicles, all, already sold when they arrived.
