Good morning. It'll be about 70-90 here. Summer isn't done but autumn is clearing its throat.
I'll get a Covid shot this morning. There's a lot of it around and we'll be traveling in a couple of weeks. Besides, my wife is in the choir and volunteers at an elementary school, so she brings home whatever is circulating.
I had a small, unoriginal epiphany this morning as I scanned Google News. News media want to alarm us so we'll click on the story and they'll sell ads. I need to limit the time I spend with such people.

Sunny and warm again today. We'll have music practice today, after a 3 week layoff, looking forward to getting together again.
Big issue for me, the garbage people didn't pick up garbage yesterday and haven't shown up yet today. What is this world coming to?

Just shop time and house work today. Get the house ready so we don't have to do it last minute. DaWife says she expects to spend a lot of time on the beach or in the pool on Kauai, fine by me.

Band this morning. And I didn't practice. I feel guilt, but, I can deal with it. (I'll practice twice next week).
Feeling really good for Kirk Cousins. He led a TD drive with only a minute on the clock and no timeouts to beat those nasty Eagles. And it was a Monday Night Game. Bully for Kirk. The local haters will have to suffer, hopefully for the whole season.

We spent Saturday night out in Greenport, on the east end of Long Island—the North Fork, as it is called, since the island splits into two peninsulas out there, with a bay between them. The Long Island Sound flows to the north. Not as fancy as the Hamptons, but we like it that way (lots of vineyards, though, due to the micro climate). We had a nice visit.
I took this photo of my cousins' 13-year-old miniature Dachshund, Avery. She has a lot of health issues and a bad back.
My cousin says those Brooks walking shoes are the most comfortable he has ever had. |

Not much planned other than trips to my old office to grab my mail and to the dog park.

My 11 year old dog had 10 bad teeth removed two weeks ago and now seems happier. Her breath is 90% better. She is back on solid food today.
All you dog owners, don't be as lazy as I was: Brush your dog's teeth.

It turned out to be an abdominal strain. I've got a prescription for a muscle relaxer and no workouts for at least a week. Then I'll be going a lot slower. Turns out I'm 72, not 27.
