Good morning. Autumn is walking through the door—currently 61° in Brooklyn, with a high of 70° predicted.
Some chores and "paper"work lined up for today. I'm up to prepare some breakfast for Her Grace, and have a cup of coffee myself.
Wishing everyone a good day.

I must ask, is this the view from your home? It's breathtaking.

Good morning. Last week was very pleasant but this week the heat is back. Above-normal temperatures. We'll get through it.
Enjoy your day.

Cool morning. The weatherdude says no more 90s until next year. Yay! We got 2 inches of rain yesterday & more is supposed to arrive today. Kick the drought in the rear weather may have arrived. We’ll see. Enjoy an extra cup of your favorite tea or coffee this morning.

Morning, up early. Wondering how Marty is doing with the time change. I always struggle the first day or two, waking up around 3:00am Hawaiian time. Coming from the middle of the country it’s an even bigger time change for them.
Doc appointment this am, to discuss recent old guy stuff. I’ll also get my updated Covid and flu vax. Then packing the trailer and make reservations at Boardman RV for Weds night, which is about halfway to our destination. That should break up the drive nicely.

Morning. We've had a few light frosts overnight this week. Our little honeycrisp tree is producing after 3 years. They are small but tasty. Almost as good as the organic Costco ones for $3 a case.

Well, I guess Fall really has arrived. I woke up this morning at 1:30 AM and was cold, cold enough that I got up and found another blanket to put on my bed.
Hot coffee is good. I'll spend some time today back in the barn, cleaning.

Good morning, all.
We are looking at a couple more days in the 90s before a front comes through and drops the temps. Fall comes late around here, but the sudden abundance of big web-spinning spiders around my driveway means that it must indeed be on the way.
32 years ago today I became a parent. Happy birthday to Rachel, my oldest.

Good morning. Looks like a warm day here, low chances for rain. I've got yardwork, shopping and a light workout. The back and abdominal stains are much improved but I'm going to go much slower than before.
Have a great day.

Eric told me this morning that today is our 5 year anniversary as a duo. I "very briefly" considered buying another guitar to celebrate, then sanity prevailed. As it happens, we also have another gig coming up on Thursday. Eric came by to practice yesterday. So the next few days will be spent running through all songs again. Kay & Brown, Soundcloud selected favorites

Morning!
I had to grab an extra blanket last night as well. 49F overnight. It's still in the low 50s and I'm wearing my Vikings hoodie. High will be mid-70s.
Off to get my Covid booster and flu shot. Then I will plant some tulips and practice my trombone solo for our upcoming concert on the 24th (trombone solos are hard to come by).

Laundry is washed and folded. Next on the agenda is printing out my recent lab reports and doctor comments from the patient portal to bring with me to my primary doc tomorrow. He is not in the same medical group as the other doctors and has been on hiatus since June to accommodate having his knee replaced.
But first, a stroll through the neighborhood. It is cloudy and there's an 82% chance of rain later this afternoon. Or maybe through the Botanic Garden...

Played a funeral today. Didn’t know the deceased but our bass player did and he asked me to back him up.
It was at a Lutheran church and the music director showed us a 500 capacity addition they built as basically a performance venue. It rivaled anything you’d see in Nashville. State of the art sound and light system, fully wireless, acoustic panels artfully placed for sound deadening etc.
Almost all the gear was from Sweetwater and installed by a pro sound company at a cost of six million dollars. My friend poked his head in on a service there and said they were great musicians and the sound was awesome.
I think outfitting praise band musicians and venues has to be lucrative.
We were in the main church and it was all wireless as well and the sound guy had us eq’ed perfectly and the sound was great.

Did they have a plexiglass cage in the performance venue to keep the drummer from escaping?
