Just finished watching Season 3. The whole thing is not for everyone, I realize. It's gross. But somehow I found it very compelling. (I keep watching pop ups on fb of African safari videos filming lions and hyenas and such chasing down wildebeests etc. So I have a morbid fascination, I suppose).
Any rate, the Season 3 ending was very touching, and emotionally scarring for me. Bitter sweet, for sure. It really stuck with me. And the final scene occurs in Los Angeles (the whole 3 seasons are in Korea), where the main surviving character is settling some outstanding distributions. And as he drives away, in an alley there's someone in a business suit playing the Koran kids game Ddakji with a bum, Thus intimating the game might live on in America. And the suited person playing the game is none other than Kate Blanchet.
Intriguing conclusion.

Yeah, I understand why most normal people weren't into SQUID GAME. It's morbid. I suppose it was my 40 years in private practice running a business that gave me a gallows view of much of life. For 35 of those years I dodged many, many bullets fired my way. My major client was a very political environment. And I had to protect those that protected me (sometimes taking a bullet on their behalf), and dodge evil self centered forces that were out to get me for not catering to their whims. It was a very stressful run. Lucrative enough, for sure. But any day the house of cards might get knocked over from a blind side.
I sit nice and pretty in retirement now. (for the most part). But I'm still drawn to safari videos of lions fighting with hyenas and wild dogs. And gazelles and wildebeests and water buffalos trying to win their right to live in the wild.
SQUID game is like that. The main character struggles to maintain his humanity in a violently ruthless world.

That sounds a lot like city band. Trying to hold on to second chair trombone with third chair trying to take you out at the knees and 1st chair sabotaging your mouthpiece to keep you there. Brutal.
