One of the great things about capturing a piece of time, is that you can always go back....close your eyes, and visit that special time....again. I am currently working on a recording that I made last week of the Brahms Violin Concerto, with the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra...and well I looked out the window and Fall is here ! I took a break from the concerto, and grabbed a bit of history that I was so fortunate to have captured in August of 2004. I went back to the raw session, and reworked the entire song from scratch...well, because I'm a bit selfish. I wanted to go back in time and feel the things I felt when I mixed this music 2 years ago...I wanted to relive a bit of the past...Like I said, I'm a bit selfish, I did something for myself and well..... it felt good. Please enjoy, Barb and Bill performing Autumn Leaves.... EnjoyTake Care, Gene

Autumn is my favourite time of year...and how lovely it is to hear Bill 'n' Barb perform this beautiful song. Thanks for putting this up, Gene.

Gene -- I just tumbled across your updated mp3 and I LOVE IT!
That was so dear of you to do, and to post. That was a great few days, wasn't it? (For those of you who missed it, Gene posted a 2004 recording of Barb singing "Autumn Leaves." The link is in the initial post on this thread. Oh, and this is a fine example of an Eva Cassidy arrangement, in case you're wondering why the melody is different from the standard version.)
I swear, every time I hear Barb sing, I fall in love all over again. Of course, the same thing happens when she calls me, or e-mails me, or we actually are TOGETHER, in the same town!
Speaking of which, it's MOVIE NIGHT for us tonight -- which of these should we see?
Accepted All the King's Men
The Black Dahlia The Covenant Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story Employee of the Month Everyone's Hero
Facing the Giants Flyboys Gridiron Gang The Guardian
The Illusionist

Downloaded, listening, awed.
Even better than I remembered.

These days, we do that song a half-step lower than we did on that recording, which allows Barb to relax a little more and really nail that final note. (I play a better solo now, too! Oh, well.)
