This is my latest bird portfolio, as I mentioned the other day. When the paper publishes their interview they will link to this, and on the basis of this, hopefully, they will feel inclined to donate to the refurbishment of the bird area of the park. It's certainly a mess now. www.jensenmusic.ca/forthebirds/

Swan, swan, swan, swan.
So where's the Mandarin ?
(As always I love your sence of composition. And the interplay of textures is wonderful. The quiet swan amidst the bevy of churning ducks is striking.
As is the famous sepia toned one of the black swan in rippled water. I have to admit the lack of color really allows the water ripple to take on feather-like appearance, while the feathers on the swan's back look wave-like. Quite and interesting interplay.
The two signets from above is still my all-time fav bird shot. It just says so much about life and hope and balance. )
I think I'm going to pass your link on to a couple people. I performed "Deep Cool of Georgian Bay" at an open mic last week. And somebody asked me if you had a web site for your photos.

Marshall, you are the sweetest man! I love the above shot of the two cygnets as well. Those two always amaze me - they are glued together still, and do the same thing a lot. Notice the little yellow guy at the end? He lived another eight hours before being killed by a raccoon in his parent's little breeding pen. I was sick about it the next day, and so was another woman who happened by while I stood outside the pen trying not to cry. She said "what can you do?" and she sighed. I said "next year these swan are going to raise their babies". She asked how, and obviously didn't think it was possible. I said, quoting that infamous line of Trudeau "Just watch me." thanks to you Marshall, we are able to cover that pen and those guys are going to have their babies. The Mandarin couple are practicing claiming a corner of their pen from the freeloader Mallards. She is becoming quite talkative and he is nervously clearing a space for her. Looking good for the spring! They are in one of the pens that we will cover. I hope they will stay there and get on with the swan. I am looking forward to the Trumpeter pair's offspring. I love how angular and fine they are. I am also nuts about the Egyptian Geese. One of my favourite photos that I have ever taken is this one: I take your point about the other birds. I am working on a site for the rest of the flock! I would love to hear the song again!
