Heck, we keep our t-stat on 78 anyway, t-bob.
Red beans & rice (flavored with a sumptuous hambone, tasso ham & smoked sausage along with basil & 'seasoning veggies') simmered all night in preparation for fellowship at our joint today. Accompanied by a dish Todd might remember..."kachumbali", consisting of nyanya (tomatoes), vitunguu (onions) and pili-pili ho-ho (bell peppers). Wonderful.

Mornin' all - looks to be another beautiful day in the north country - doubt if it'll get up to 78 here. Another day of grass cutting. I got up early to watch the French GP, but it's being tape delayed for broadcast on FOX - guess I'll have to find something else to do.

pilli-pilli-ho-ho, huh? I have a pilli-pilli-ho-ho story. It's the ho ho part that brought to mind our visit to Aracabessa, Jamaica, in 1986. My former husband had been working on a film in the mountains for a few weeks and, at the end of shooting, I had flown down to meet up with him in Kingston. We decided to take a taxi along the north side until we saw a place that we fancied to hang out in. So we did, and stopped at a marketplace in a lovely seaside town, negotiated room and board with a couple of young ladies and hired a fellow to show us around. It was quite wonderful. The entire village moved into party mode for the week and we had many visitors, come with torches up the Tank Hill in the evenings, and we threw a big party for everyone. They rigged the machine in the bar downtown so that we won and there were drinks for everyone until the money ran out. The police came by to tell us that everything was all right - because staying with local people was totally illegal. We had a great beach party the night before we left - every single person and a huge sound system on the beach. Poverty did not get in the way of a good time in Oracabessa. What has this to do with pilli pilli ho ho? Well, back in the day the husband was a pretty handsome fellow. The ladies thought he looked exactly like Jesus. They would giggle when they saw him and say "portrait of Jesus, portrait of Jesus" (everywhere on the island). One afternoon when we were climbing the hill back to our place we met Sonja, one of our hostesses on her way down she bent over to "tie her shoe" at which point the top of her dress fell down. She jumped up and said, "OH ME DRESS FELL OFF!" Jack just stood there grinning. You could hear everyone laughing on the hill behind. The next day I went down the hill with Betty, the other sister, to purchase some red bell peppers from a neighbour's garden. Betty called from the gate for a few minutes and presently there emerged the most beautiful, most black, entirely naked man I have ever seen. He carried in his hand about six peppers. I was forewarned this time and said "Betty, can we buy these once a day?" It's a rainy sort of morning here but warm. The weather is not at all typical. The old guys around here are shaking their heads. Happy Sunday.

Morning all. It has been pleasantly comfortable here. As in low nineties. But not so humid. We are expecting rain today so the humidity is up this morning.
There isn't a whole lot going on, and I guess that is a good thing. Gotta get dressed and go to church, then spend the rest of the day just being lazy. Maybe get some picking in.

Good Morning Good People
Another beautiful summer morning on the Third Coast. Off to church for Screwdriver Sunday. I thought this was an odd choice of beverages for a midwestern church, but actually the congregation has been asked to bring screwdrivers to remove the pews after the morning service in preparation for renovations over the summer. The building is over 100 years old and falling plaster tends to dampen the worship experience.
Have a peaceful Sundae one and all.

Good Morning
Going to spend the day at Glenn's aka ACdog. I will be using his shop space to do some finish work on the 1968 Goya T-23 and a 1964 Gretsch Folk Singing model.

Good day -- Well, I braved icky Fairgrounds-area traffic yesterday (the annual hot rod show is in town) to go see Marty and his new car and I got down to Podium and started talking with Frank and Dave and some customers and played the Pod's new CA guitar and then went to my car to get Carbona so we could compare it, and I looked forward to heading downstairs and congratulating Marty on the bright red Cobalt I saw out in the lot and I kidded to Frank that we should get a magnetic FIRE CHIEF sign for the door of Marty's new car.
Then Frank told me that Marty's new Cobalt is blue (cobalt blue, I hope) and that Marty had already left for the day ....
Sigh.
My outdoor gig went well last night until clouds arrived, rain started falling, and I had to scamper to get gear under cover. I had a plan in place, though, and I was only 10 feet from a roof. the Goodall was whisked to safety first, then the Ultrasound amp, then my mike and ... last to be grabbed was Carbona, sitting on a stand out there, getting a nice little rinse. I wiped it off and it was just fine.
Did one more set inside and did well on tips and ate yummy cheesecake.
Today, I have blocked out noon to 2 for the French Grand Prix (unlike some people here, I check TV listings the day before), then Kendra and I are headed off to Faribo for the graduation party of Barb's daughter. Another lovely looking day here.

Sekh, that sounds like one of those magic times that most people never get to touch - because they're too afraid to do something like that.
Cloudy today, but warm. Maybe we'll get sun. Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning everyone. I'll be studying and picking most of the day as I'm working on some concepts that are not that easy to understand or do. Improvisation of course.
I'm ready for the Texas Acoustic Hill Country Music Camp which will start next Wednesday. I'll leave for Kerrville early Wednesday morning for a stopover in San Angelo to see my Dr. and lunch with my brother and sister. I'm still not sure which guitar will go with me but it won't be Bourge the dread. Just too big for five full days of playing. Been there done that. I don't know what happened, I could do it when I was young.

What a story, Sek. Wonderful.
I'm working today. It's registration day for summer school at Iowa Braille, so I'll spend my time talking to parents, creating the illusion that I know what I'm doing.

Happy Sundae. Mine started early this morning. My son Luke and his soccer team were in a semifinal game this morning with te chance to play in the championship at 3:00 PM. We scored first and most ofthe play in the first half was in the other team's end. They tied the game on a fluke breakaway that had our goalie meeting the attackman hands to foot. The other guy won, passed it off and they scored. They scored th only second half goal, but we outplayed them. We just could notget another ball in the goal. Bummer.

Nothing exciting here.
