Good morning, folks.
I know I've got a 6 - 9 hour jump on most of you, and this morning I feel like I need it. Interesting night strolling the redlight district here in Amsterdam with my son, his 6'2" redheaded looks attracted lots of attention from the ladies "under glass" - he's so naive he could barely look at any of them. And then there's my first experience of buying weed and hash legally. And then sharing it with my son. The Anne Frank Museum was a must see - the house she and her family hid out in is impeccably preserved - what a story.
Enjoy the weekend.

Up and awake. I do NOT have to go to Fort Polk tomorow (yea). We will depart next Sunday and be gone a week only. That means I now have the ability to clean the basement...... Paul

Good AM all...the back is still out. My daughter has diagnosed stress, I have no idea as to the reason this time. All I can say is thank goodness to muscle relaxants, I stand straight by about 11.
Saw the Dark Knight last night...good but......very long, true, very true to the Batman comic in many ways.

Where are the Heards these days?
I am headed off to Eau Claire later this morning. Much foment with my folks -- my mom's dementia symptoms escalated to the point to where my sister had to go through the legal hoops to get her involuntarily admitted to a locked hospital ward for assessment; the likely next step is a nursing home, leaving my dad in their new (since March) apartment to fend for himself.
Of course, there are social services available, and my sister and her son and a cousin are on call for urgent help. But poor Robbie had to oversee this commitment process all on her own in my absence, and then she left Wednesday for several weeks in Malawi, a church-sponsored trip she had planned to make LAST summer, but could not, as Mom and Dad needed her help in Florida amid their declining health.
But this had to happen, and it will at least give Dad a chance to heal from some fall injuries he suffered earlier this year, and to get some sleep without worrying about Mom lashing out at him in a rage after being sweet and gentle only moments earlier, for instance.

Alive and well. Still trying to figure out where to start cleaning the house at. To say my ex was a bad house keeper is to give her way to much credit, still it must be done and it is now my job.

Good morning everyone. May go to 104 today but I won't know it 'till I get my bill 'cause I ain't going out in that temp. I heard it was dangerous for Senior Citizens to do that.
I'll be working on jazz and blues improvising with the guitar and bluegrass on the mandolin. I'm really having a ball with the music they gave us at camp. Have a good one.

100 or so today. Tomorrow is back to work after an 8-week self-imposed absence. I plan on getting my clothes all laid out tonight.
I'm sorry to hear about your mother, Bill. We had a similar situation with my mother's father, and it was very difficult for my aunt and uncles. My brother-in-law is going through the same process. It sounds to me like you and your family are doing the right thing, however difficult it is for you.
On a lighter note, my grandfather's dementia came with an aversion to wearing clothes.

Evenin'.....
Back from Scott State Lake.....had a fun weekend, met some nice folks, did a bit of fishing, a good amount of resting and picking for a few folks who stopped by our campsite, and an excellent job of eating.
I'll catch up more here later - seems I have a bug in my email somewhere and I need to run some scans.
Hope everyone is doin' OK.
