Hate seeing what's going on and I feel bad for all involved and all affected. This is a Twitter. So grain of salt and all. But it's from a Canadian MP.
"Briane is a single mom from Chilliwack working a minimum wage job. She gave $50 to the convoy when it was 100% legal. She hasn’t participated in any other way. Her bank account has now been frozen. This is who Justin Trudeau is actually targeting with his Emergencies Act orders."
Another snippet is from a coffee shop owner who has been serving coffee and sandwiches to protesters who is being raided for doing this.
Yikes.

The other day at the super--eyes from maguro/tuna, about $5 for the pack. Bigger than golf balls, smaller than tennis. (I would have arranged them so that it seemed like they were looking at you.) I think i'd have to google some to find out how to cook/prepare them. "Here's looking at you, Squid"

Folks lost their livelihoods forever, but from our million dollar savings account we'll buy them a gift card to buy dinner out....and then we'll have the audacity to feel good about ourselves for our charity. Hey, we're all in this thing together. Covid has been the Mother-Of-All-Virtue-Signaling fests.

The positives I've seen are the raging pushbacks against the COVID political tyranny of the elites. Parents have been roused to tell teacher's unions to shove their BS up their ass and are now flooding the zone to get political office and boot the jack wads that created this. And the thing with the Canadian (and soon, American) trucker protests are lining idiots like Trudeau Buttigieg/Biden up for total political oblivion. Couldn't happen to more appropriate targets who have fueled this lockdown nonsense and destroyed so many lives. I feel awful for Canadians. A frightening precedent has been set by having banks and police working together to freeze accounts of protesters and even those who have donated to their cause. Freaky.

I want to be careful how I say this, because it is all simply a matter of taste ... I really don't care for the currently-popular habit of adding a bridge or something to a hymn to make it more contemporary. Neither the text nor the music of Amazing Grace needs improvement, in my opinion, and I think the add-ons almost always distract from the original text. Of course, if everything went to suit me, we'd still sing A Mighty Fortress in German, so what do I know? I'm with you Shannon. There's a Lutheran church on St Charles Ave a few blocks away from where I'm working. When their belfry chimes the hour it's followed by a rendition of a well known hymn in bells. I have so enjoyed singing along. It's given me a real lift . Such a contrast to the hedonism that predominates in New Orleans.

My son-in-law's mother turns 85 this week. She's a very old-school south side gospel believer. Quite a woman. Came to America from Jamaica as a young woman to find a better life. Cleaned houses. Eventually got enough where with all to bring her children over here. Trevor came when he was 8. Lived in housing projects in the early years. Trevor went to Catholic schools on scholarship. Got a BS from Loyola. A Masters from Michigan State. Good solid people. So I was informed from a guitar playing relative on Trevor's side that we are to do a duet at the party this Saturday. He suggested Amazing Grace. Should be doable. We've never played together before. He's more of a South Side Jazz guitar guy. Any rate, I just suggested the Chris Tomlin version of Amazing Grace. I love the chorus he added to the song. (Based on writings of John Newton). Tomlin does it in G. Richard suggested key of E. Works for me nicely. And I just worked out a partial capo chord progression that is nice and lush. We'll get together this afternoon and hammer the final arrangement out. I expect Rich can sing some verses and I'll do the choruses. Maybe harmony. Here's the Chris Tomlin version. Our church does this in some other key (for the female singer). Thank you for posting the Tomlin video. We sing it at our church as well and I've always been lukewarm about it. I love the chord changes in the moving Harmony's in Tommy's version. But the Tomlin video with all those clips about slavery really is wonderful. I'm wondering if those clips are from that movie about Wilberforce

New Orleans still has a vaccine mandate and you have to show proof of vaccine to even go in a restaurant or bar. Yeah there's a hotel guest I'm eating breakfast here and I am one of the Great unwashed. As I discovered yesterday I cannot eat lunch here unless I get my truck and drive out of New Orleans. I also see that they announced that they're going to lift this requirement just in time for Mardi Gras. It shouts hypocrisy
