I just found out my son bought Fenway tix to see the Sox and Angels at Fenway next Sunday. I am ecstatic about this. He’s taking me and his sons. On the face of it this is great, but it also brings back great memories of when I took my father to see the Phillies many years ago. Gotta make sure we enter the ballpark from the first base side so as we enter we are looking right at the Green Monster like in Field of Dreams. I’m psyched.

I love it when I drop my flat pick into the guitar while I’m playing.

The 1.0’s slow for clear bass runs and single notes for bits of the melody and occasional harmony. Breaks up the potential strumming monotony a bit.

I use an electric razor. It does not snag my skin and does a reasonable job.

For yucks I ordered a pack of regualr shaped picks from D'Addario. They came today. I ordered .7mm and .85mm. My goodness, the .7mm feel like I've been playing them all my life. Very lively sound. Not as pointed as the black ice ones. But they feel natural in my hand. This could be a new thing. You know, this is why I have a can of 900,000 picks. Only 900,000? Thought you had a million of ‘em

At our old farts lunch Thursday one of the guys said he had gone to Kohl's and asked a young woman if they had shoe horns. She said "I'm sorry, we don't sell musical instruments." He explained what a shoe horn was, and she had never heard of them. I tried to find a styptic stick at CVS yesterday. Ended up ordering them from Amazon last night. Yet another reason I do not shave. I have shaved twice in 40 plus years both as my wife wouldn’t marry me til she had seen my face. The second day swore I wouldn’t shave again as dragging the blade over a recovering face was quite uncomfortable.

Holy shite!
We just had a mild earthquake in Brooklyn 10 minutes ago! No kidding. It was weird and somewhat disturbing.
The news says it was magnitude 4.7.
Read about it but didn’t feel it up here. Thought I should have.

Used to play a .7 all the time. Now when I strum I use a 1.0. It gets rid of All the little flappy sound of the lighter gauges and I sure don’t miss it.

Looks to me like he’s playing in standard, maybe drop D. Nothing fancy, just reaching out to the fourth fret with his pinky while holding down the D chord.

Sorry to hear that. That’s real Down East. I’m sort of edge of Boston burbs. Tis mighty white though.

I’d hardly call it a blizzard. We only lost power for less than 30 minutes. Maybe a touch less than a foot of snow. Nothing to prevent a shopping trip or cause a restaurant closure.

My wife’s Prius has 280,000 miles on it and we are committed to getting it to 300K. By turning it over we would be negating all the $ we save in gas. The best automotive economy is keeping your car.
