When you think you've had a glimpse, you don't think of it as an act of faith in the way those words are usually used.

I'm not saying you think of it as an act of faith, which I will define as something you believe in despite the absence of concrete evidence that it exists. You believe you have seen that concrete evidence (I'm guessing here). I would argue that your belief that you have evidence that isn't faith based is itself faith based. I know, I'm a jerk and all, but if faith didn't require, you know, FAITH, then it would be a fact and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

You're not being a jerk, Tramp. The word faith is commonly used these days in accordance with your definition. I don't think it's a very good definition.
