Well. I gotta say. It's a piss poor state of affairs when I have to be the one who initiates the daily... All of our most formidable miscreants are travelling in the "North Country Fair," and poor Paul is still trying to get his biological clock back to home base. And two, at least that I know of, of our best photographers among the band of merry men and women are partying hardy somewhere near Owen sound. While us poor deprived "home folks" are sitting around with our curiosity tongues hanging out....
Someone say something outrageous! Let's have a fight. Or something.

I started one while you were starting this one and I don't see how to delete the one I started.
Good morning.
It's cooler today so I think I'll golf. Might see if my buddy wants to try it again. He was tempted to over-do it Wednesday and I had to talk him out of trying to swing a real club. He's supposed to keep it sown to chipping and putting for a few more weeks.
Got through yesterday, including the dentist, with one real cigarette and it really didn't do anything for me that the e-cig doesn't do. I'll try to get through today without one. Staying busy helps and it got both cars washed yesterday.
Hope all the travelers are traveling well.

That's the idea. Let's talk about golf. "Sports of all sorts, autumn, summer... winter tennis of all kinds.."
When I was a kid I lived across from Galloway Golf course on Walnut Grove in Memphis Tennessee. So I took up golf. My Dad got me a starter kit. My Dad, caddied for Sam Snead and was an enthusiast. Well. I remember when I scored about a 10 or 15 on a par 3 course and that's when I was man enough to say to myself... "You know what..? I don't think I was cut for this line of work..!"

Near as I can figure, the trick to golf is playing with old folks who aren't any better at it than I am now even if they used to be good at it.

Up. More sanding and staining today, if the rain holds off.

Good morning. This is the kind of all too rare week I love... rehearsals Monday and Tuesday, gigs Wednesday through Sunday. Had fun at the Roseville gig yesterday with Hammond and a delightful singer/guitarist/songwriter named Claire Van De Crommert. Bill and I invited her to the Soundhole. We also warned her about what goes on in here, so I hope she shows up.

Morning all
Have to say it was a rough day for the e-cig yesterday, was puffing and sucking on that damn thing all day. couldn't figure out why, I switched to the lower nicotine, thought it might be because of that. Then changed the battery which helped a little bit, but after awhile was back to the same thing. then finally came home, and decided to change out the cartomizers/clearomizers that was the problem. back to vaping away.
Also found out last night, one of the guys I use to go out and smoke with decided to end it all. was pretty shocked to hear that, he just got married two months ago, and had a baby on the way. I still don't understand why people do this. He was 33, had his whole life in front of him still.

I have no income work right now so I'm pulling out all the old classical guitars from storage(archive) and making them into playable instruments. One interesting piece was a old Brazilian made Giannini that I never paid much attention to. All plywood construction with brass frets, not really worth my efforts, until I looked at the date it was made, dated 9/65 it is I believe the oldest Giannini I have ever seen.

What crappy news, Bassman. There are rarely any good answers to that, are there?

Good morning! Lars and I are up and wondering why we are. Swan Jammers are getting the rest we should be getting, after a wonderful evening filled with song and laughter until the wee hours. It is so good to be back together. Dub brought along his marvelous Terry Kennedy arch top - a wonder of strings and wood. We are patiently awaiting the arrival of Flake and Diane, Tamarack and Howard. I don't know what we'll do today - I guess, given that we don't have anything else on the agenda we'll just have to play music and eat and stuff all day.

Thanks Sek, wish I was there. Lonnie I heard Claire at one of Bill's Rosejams, she blew me away. We had around 800 people for our Courthouse lawn Patsy concert last night. Average age about 85. Lucky no one died. It was free, if not we would have probably had 50.

Well, it's heartening to hear so much good news against Bassman's sad tidings. Enjoy your time together, Owen Sounders!
We had a delightful little show last night at the Central Park Amphitheater in Rosieville. Even the opening act, four young lads with out of tune guitars and too-quiet vocals, was tolerable and good about getting on and off quickly and quietly.
It was a perfect night to play outdoors -- the humidity had broken, there was a light overcast so no sun was bearing down, and there was just a hint of a breeze. We sure didn't draw the kind of crowd that Terry's band did (!) but Lonnie and Claire sounded fab and we got nice applause.
And then we ate fattening food at Ol' Mex!
Today -- still on vacation, so lawn cutting and hedge trimming, whoo hoo ...
