Well, God bless her, mother nature is taking another dump on us. I suppose most of you guys received yours yesterday. Fine weather to just sit at home and play "Summertime."

KC saw about 8 inches of snow yesteday. Down here in Kentucky, we got some ice. We're on a two hour work delay, so I'm just waking up. It's overrated.

Back at work today after taking a day of rest yesterday. I actually recorded some stuff with the little Tascam DR-08 recorder. I'm getting some annoying pops which hasn't happened before with this--maybe it's the batteries? I just put the thing on a chair in the middle of the room with my electric guitar amp on one side and sang through an acoustic amp on the other side of the room. Levels worked out OK with this crude method. I had done some experiments with the recorder at chest height and playing acoustic and singing but it picked up more guitar than vocal. It probably needs to be farther away.

Wait a minute.... while I was counting my sheep, I remembered.... I saw a Robin yesterday! Poor thing must have been using a Garmin. Wrong place at the wrong time in history. Ain't no worms anywhere.
So say a prayer for the poor little robin..
ok. back to sleep. (I promise)

Good morning. Just wet here even most of the ice that had formed in the pool cover is gone.
Open mic tonight and I plan to try 2 banjo tunes in honor of Pete Seeger, then switch back to guitar and hope my voice holds up. I've cut down on sucking the e-cig, by sucking a lot of cough drops instead and the voice has improved but I don't trust it. Got an e-mail yesterday asking me to play at an arts council fair at the local community college on the 22nd and I said yes. I only have to do 45 minutes so with any luck I can do that. As I understand it, they give the musicians $40 but you're expected to donate it back to the council. In that case, they'll get what they paid for anyway.
Good luck with the storm up north.

More snow over night and it is still coming down. Windy, too. Driveway is full so once it is a decent hour of the morning, the snow blower will be running again. We both have dental appointments today so we will see whether we can get there or not. Ugh.

Just got in from an hour of driveway shoveling. Got about 5" overnight. Another few hovering overhead. Temps not bad. About 22. I wouldn't want it any warmer with a snow like this. It gets real wet and heavy then. That being said, there's no place to put the stuff anymore. Can't just push it around where you've got 4 ft piles along the edges, Where the front door sidewalk meets the driveway there's a 6 ft Mt Everest of snow bank. Just no where else to put the stuff.
For the first time this season my back is stiff and sore. I need to go soak in the tub. I'll work from home today. Traffic reports are awful. No sense trying to drive in this mess. Sue has to get out, but she's only got a couple miles to drive to work.
By the weather reports, LJ has it much worse.

Below zero here this morning. Not sure how much below because when I started the truck this morning all I saw was "DAMN!" flashing in blue.

Do what they do in north Jersey. Just hire someone with moving equipment, and when the neighbors are out to work, dump it in their driveways. Speaking from experience here. Scout's Honor. That 2nd line is my comment. (Sheesh! it sure would be easy to commit plagiarism around here)
