Land O Lakes When I was in high school I worked as a grocery stock boy. One day some guy in the dairy department asked me, "Ever wonder what's behind the butter box the Indian maiden is holding?"

I am in Tower, MN visiting my sister. Population is 540 and at least 49 people are not home. Remotesville. Nice lake. Lake Vermilion is a large and very beautiful lake. I was just looking at a map of the beaches there just the other day. Planning future metal detecting trips.

Hope you all had as lovely a weekend as we upper Midwesterners. Despite the lovely weather, the Raffle Count continued it's steady upward journey. (We collected some "metal" ourselves. ). The dollar amount is up to a whopping $855 already. (See below) As always; keep those cards and letters coming.

Hump Day update - And we're almost there ! Present total is at a whopping $915. A 3-for $60 and a single $25 will hit the reserve on the head. And the lucky participant that does it will receive a special kiss on the cheek from our Luthier Master Marty. . . . , or maybe not.
Keep those cards and letters coming.

Marty told me he would kiss the person who took the tally into the $1000 territory. It will be a cheek kiss, not a lip smack, so don't be frightened or get your hopes up too high. Maybe he meant he would give the person some Hershey Kisses but anyway you look at it, we are very, very close now. Let's get over the top of the hill!

Absolutely keep those cards and letters (and BIG dollars) coming. This is just barely the break-even point.
But we are too legit to quit !

Part 11 is up. I had the browser crash twice while writing the post, luckily I was able to recover the work to date both times. Between editing photos and writing, part 11 took 3 1/2 hours.
More often than not the literary work takes longer than the physical work.

Well, we've had a lovely weekend, haven't we ? ? ? The old thermometer has clicked further up the chart. Apparantly the graphic only goes to 100%. (Maybe we'll have to find another graphic) But the good news is the total has busted through the reserve level. We're at a nice legal number of $1,060 as we sit here and stare blankly at out computer screens. But there's still more than a month left, so plenty of time to get in on the action. By all means, read Marty's repair thread. That'll surely whet your appetite. That's going to be a very cool guitar for some lucky ducky. . . . , it could be YOU !

We're still sitting nicely at $1,060 (Barring receipt of t-bob's check). It's OK for a little lull.
I expect a surge as the day comes closer.
