When I heard recently that Maid-Rite sammiches would be served at I-Jam XXXIV, or whatever it is this year, I was tempted to post "BYOF," that last letter standing for "flavor."
Maid-Rites aren't bad or foul, it's just that like the much vaunted Iowa pork tenderloin sammich, I find them pretty much tasteless. They could use a little nutrition, too -- what the hell.
So here is my retrofit to the basic Maid-Rite, to bring it up to where I might want to have a second one.
Remove top bun, spray ground meat with Sriracha sauce, then add thinly sliced strips of Gouda. Sprinkle liberally with fresh leaves of baby spinach, smash the top bun back on there and dig in.
Other ideas welcomed here.

Nice idea.
Ain't ever had one of dem. But I'm game to try. And yes, some cheese and sauce and veggie condominiums would probably be a nice idea.

Remove the top half of the bun.
Using a spatula, remove the ground-beef-looking stuff that is sitting on the bottom half of the bun.
On that bottom half of the bun, place a slice of hard salami, followed by a slice of marbled colby/cheddar cheese.
On top of that, place a slice of Roman Meal bread, buttered on the top.
Next, place that buttered top butter side down on a hot skillet.
You should now see the bottom half of the bun facing upward. Carefully (it's on a hot skillet. Don't burn yourself) remove this bottom half of the bun.
Place another slice of buttered Roman Meal bread on top of the now exposed hard salami, buttered side up.
After about a minute and a half, using the aforementioned spatula, flip the maidrite over in the skillet so that the second-added slice of buttered Roman Meal bread is on the skillet.
Leave on the skillet until the cheese shows signs of melting.
Remove from heat and serve with dill pickle spears, potato chips, and iced tea.

Re: Bill's Maid-Rite modification. Start with a Panera sandwich and skip the rest of the process.
Or, if breaded pork is what you're after, start with the Culver's version.

The only time I've ever enjoyed a Culver's was when I ate at one with Marshall. And then it was only the company I enjoyed.

Since there has been no mention of bacon I assume these things are vegetarian friendly and don't really qualify as a sandwich.

For an all-Maidrite concoction, you might try removing their ground-beefish material and replacing with their nice onion rings and drizzle with ketchup & Tabasco.
I'd eat it.

I rarely eat fast food. I had a Wendy's in about 1973. Barb and I made the mistake of having White Castle, a true abomination, in 1994 as we came home from somewhere, found ourselves hungry and thought they might be interesting. I had McDonald in about 2005. Don't recall what McThing it was. In 2003, we had our first Burger King while in the airport in Las Vegas. As I recall, there were not many food choices. It was Burger King or some falafel place or spaghetti on a stick thing. I have had Culvers about 3 times because a new one opened in town a couple of years ago and the people who run it are really nice. I do like pizza. I guess that is fast food I have that about every 3-4 months or so. I had a point when I started this but I will be damned if I can recall what it was.

So if we are having Maid Rite's why don't you all bring something to adorn them with. Bill can bring some Sriracha. Personally I think these would be nice.

Is that a set of dentures in the bottom of that jar of peppers? Sure looks like it. I will certainly avoid those. Not sure what Sriracha sauce is but didn't Joanie love Sriracha on TV?

Siracha is that chili sauce with the chicken on the bottle. Supposedly oriental stuff, although made in California.
As far as the Maid Rite improvements, Millring is right. This isn't fast food. You've got to get up early to steep ground burger in chicken broth. It's a slow process so create such a culinary delight.
