Okay, that's it. Ramblin' Boy. Oh my. Lars and I were just standing here listening to Tom Paxton and Pete Seeger and throwing in harmonies and smiling like two fools.
And then, we listened to Todd. Tissue time. Oh my. Me: oh Larry, I love Todd. Larry: Who wouldn't love Todd?

I got to see this live and close up in about 1969-'70 or so. J.D. Crowe and Kentucky Mountain Boys. The late Larry Rice (Tony's brother); lead vocal and mandolin, Doyle Lawson; guitar & tenor vocal, J.D. Crowe; banjo, Bobby Slone; bass. It's still my favorite arrangement of the song.

I think as a general rule you are right but I think that particular song transcends that rule. It's Hank and it's a sing-along that I've never seen miss. I think as a general rule, though, you are wrong. There are a lot of Jesus references in there, remember. With "This Land" you get a patriotic theme (never mind the commie who wrote it). Does this one break any rules? I think the library ladies would love it.
