Saw one of these today, the i3, an electric roller skate with suicide doors.

Maybe you could get one with the invisibility cloaking option.

I saw a Porsche SUV the other day and asked myself, what was the point. Status? Buy a Land Rover, for crying out loud!

Homely Beemer. Great band. Their 3rd album on vinyl was a killer. Sadly, that was many years ago and the years have not been kind.

I think the car manufacturers make these hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles look different on purpose. As for the all electrics it has to look futuristic because that's the technology they are selling. They aren't selling this car to 50 year old grandfathers. Their target market is high earning millenials and they don't have the same eye for tradition that guys like me and you do.

I'm glad that Elon Musk isn't going in that direction. I'm really hoping for Tesla's success. The Model 3 pictured below is priced at almost $10,000 less than that hat box of a BMW. I really like the lines of the Tesla. Although I can't get over the blank space on the front of the Tesla where the grill is supposed to go.

Marty has revved up some testosterone with his new car -- his departure from the eatery lot was high-enough throttle to produce some audible tire squeal. You animal, you!

Nah! they're just squeaky new tires. If Bill's Nissan Black Beauty is a thoroughbred my new Ford is a Clydesdale. Lots of torq and a six speed tranny.

I'm with you, Bill. Porsche and Mercedes SUVs? Really? They look like ... A Japanese compact, fer crissake. Or a mouse, I like that.
The 2002 was one of the most classic butt ugly cars ever made.

What does it have for an engine? My 2008 Escape was a V-6 4WD automatic (don't remember number of gears) and it was a dog off the line. It was OK on the highway and got 30+mpg highway, more like 20 around town but it wasn't fast by any means. The flat-4 Subaru Outback isn't much if any slower getting up to speed. It's a 6 speed CVT. The only complaint I had with the Escape was the leather seats were rock hard and after an hour or two on the road I had to stop and get out for a break. Maybe they've fixed that.

Maybe they've fixed that. 3.0L V6 gets up to speed quickly but I haven't really ever punched it yet. It has a tow package and automatic AWD. Seats are comfy but not the well broken in comfy of my old Explorer. All rear windows are tinted rather dark and while this limits view the side mirrors are incredible. Nice wide view and large blind spot inserts that really work. And unlike my old Ford and DaWife's Chevy the rear view mirror is set high enough that it does not block my view of things approaching from the right. Also I can adjust the steering wheel where I want it and it is not blocking my view of the speedometer.

Never mind all that -- the important thing is that the Ruby Rae at Pizza Luce was delicious, and I came home with two leftover slices!
