That is good news. Can I borrow your daughter for a few weeks...months...ok, years?
Few come out of a mess like you found yourself in. Congrats.

If I group my ramblings into paragraphs, won't I then must needs to start them with an topic sentence and subsequently remain focused enough to follow that with two or three cogent supporting sentences?
I'm not sure I can take the pressure of pretending to be grammatically correct. That's a lot to ask of someone with a Mississippi public school education, my friend.
But I will do my best.

In this new political environment we should focus on no more than 5 bullet points * with large fonts * small words * ... * ... * A bigly at the end

If I group my ramblings into paragraphs, won't I then must needs to start them with an topic sentence and subsequently remain focused enough to follow that with two or three cogent supporting sentences? ... That's the beauty of my "count to clarity" system. You don't have to fret, worry, or focus. Just count, any count, it doesn't matter. If the counting complicates, then just measure. I also have a "measure to meaning" system that works equally well. Just paste a ruler to the side of your monitor and every inch to an inch and half, hit the enter key. Easy-peasy!

So how much does your desk weigh?
Tipping a glass of rum in your honor, sir.

I don't get on Facebook much, but what I've learned is that hitting the Enter key there simply ends the message. So I thought Alan posted there first, then copied and pasted to here.
But anyway:
That's fantastic news and great for us to hear. Now you can get a good night's sleep.

In these days of computer design and CNCs, I may be the only cad guy and/or designer who still has a scale. Little used.

That says 1973 on the end of the scale. The "brush" is self explanatory.

Did you ever have to work in ink and with a Leroy set for lettering? Some of the Navy work I did had to be that way. It's like how to work a week on a 30 minute project. You can't make a mistake else you start over.

You can't make a mistake else you start over. Only from 1974 to the early '90s. The only tattoos I have on my body are dots in my fingers and hands from reaching for a Koh-i-noor pen without looking and stabbing myself. I still have my Leroy set up in the attic (for some reason). My ACAD lettering is sized and related to a Leroy set. You guys are probably not aware of the fact that besides being a marvelous guitar player, Jerry Philen was a programmer extraordinaire and AutoCAD guru. Back in the dark ages before computers became ubiquitous he was programming calculators to perform trig functions for surveying. By the time Autocad came along he was ready and seemingly overnight was a master at AutoLISP the programming language of ACAD. We worked at different firms but he was kind enough to share his CAD setup with me else I would have lost my mind. One of the routines that he set up was to size lettering based on the proposed scale of the finished drawing and Leroy templets (or boards) of which we were both familiar. So to this day I will set my lettering size based on a "60 board" or "70 board" Leroy templet because that is how Jerry set it up waaaayyy back in the late '80s. The flyout ACAD toolbar still says "50", "60", "70", etc.

You can't make a mistake else you start over. The first place I worked after college, My supervisor asked, "Do you know how to Leroy?" I said, "No." He said, "Good answer." The poor schmuck who knew how to Leroy was stuck doing that all day long.
