Alan - you do realize that telling others critical of your punctuation and diction to kiss your ass is an always available response right?

Alan - you do realize that telling others critical of your punctuation and diction to kiss your ass is an always available response right? As long as you don't ask him to kiss your diction.

I have not so fond memories of countless hours spent lettering drawings in college. Never really needed it. I took drafting right before computers became ubiquitous. Still, our instructor insisted "YOU CAN'T BE A GOOD ENGINEER WITHOUT GOOD LETTERING!!"
Damn. That sucked.

Alan - you do realize that telling others critical of your punctuation and diction to kiss your ass is an always available response right? Maybe when he is in Florida, but if he asks someone to kiss his ass in Mississippi he can be arrested. They got clear laws against that kind of behavior in Ole Miss.

Alan - you do realize that telling others critical of your punctuation and diction to kiss your ass is an always available response right? He was gentle and gave me a peck on the cheek afterwards so it didn't bother me. The previous violator of my self esteem was not as nice.

Good for you, Alan, I’m glad to hear it. I think. There was something about something, then thread drift, then more drift, then the driftiest. But I think I’m happy for you, if I’m in the right thread.

Good to hear Alan, and major props to your daughter. Haven't been on the small business owner side, but I've been all over the small nobody side of that. Glad it worked out.

Update Redux:
Since my last update here are the highlights: We hired a survey manager from a large construction firm. He took a 30K cut in pay to come to work for us. It was a real leap of faith for us because at the time we didn't really see a way to pay for him. It seems to be working. He has hired several new guys and they are busy. He manages them and I don't have to talk to any Florida employees. I talk to subcontractors we have in Miss. doing pipeline work but not any from Fla except him and my daughter.
Today they (my daughter and the survey manager) made the deal to buy out another survey company. He will come to work for us for less than we thought he would cost. They will negotiate with him for a cost of his business which has some decent equipment (good stuff but not new by any means) and a tremendous amount of goodwill and business contacts. He was tired of running crews, business, clients, employees, etc and will provide us with another Professional Surveyor, calculations, bid estimations, etc.
My daughter is finally fully on-board with me transferring majority ownership of the corporation's stock to her. As soon as she clears out the rest of the debt, we will do the deed and she will be the new owner. She has also agreed to give the new survey manager some ownership also which made him very happy and increased his already high level of motivation. I am hoping they set the world on fire over there.
I still work most everyday but it is get up and drink coffee with Faithful Wife and sit down for half a day or so at my laptop and try to be productive.
Other news is that FW and I have an apt in Orlando but here in MS we live in a 5th wheel camper. For my birthday my daughter bought us an F350 one ton 4WD truck to pull it. Hopefully I will be working in our camper in exotic locales soon. She still has her mother in a nursing home in Poplarville, MS so we can't be going on any month long odysseys but shorter trips are mos def a possibility.
I have been watching a lot of RV Youtube vids on camping, RVs, good camping spots, travel tips, living in a 5th wheel tips, etc. There is a lot to learn. We may be taking our maiden voyage next week to a Corps of Engineers campground on the Warrior River in Alabama. If I make it, I will give you a mini report.
That's it for now. Laters

Well that's just great. Be sure to get a set of truck nuts for your F-350. ( I like that 6.7 diesel )

They have laws against perverted hanky-panky too, but they waive them if you're running for the Senate.

XLNT! Great to hear about the turn around. Still a little early,, but wife and I are contemplating an eventual RV Home. Live in a moldy old house that sat empty for ten years for a while and she will be ecstatic to live in an RV. Just one of those life hacks you hear about.

He was gentle and gave me a peck on the cheek afterwards so it didn't bother me. The previous violator of my self esteem was not as nice. I meant to be kind, and also to help save my eyesight, which has suffered from editing 42+ articles per week on a computer screen. Separate short paragraphs can be a wonderful thing, and only enhance online friendships. 😃 And best wishes on your update, Alan. Good news, indeed.

Don't actually know you but I'm very proud of your success regardless. Yes, that's weird. Tough. You're missing out, Peter. There must be some gorgeous RV campgrounds near you in the Shenandoah Valley. Have the Chavers spend some time in one and get to know them. You'll be glad you did. (Hell, I'd love to come too.)

Alan, Thanks for the update. Sound like great news. You'll need RV camping space near Vinton come September.

Congrats to all -- must be a great feeling to hit the skids and recover so well late in one's working life.
