We have also worked on King Kong, Jimmy Fallon, Fast & Furious, and several non-park Universal projects.

Cool! A bit different than what you were doing back home, I'm sure.
But I wonder. Is Jimmy Fallon now a ride?

Yes. Anecdote time. My son and I took several Universal supervisors to lunch for schmoozing purposes. We asked them what is a Jimmy Fallon ride and how did that come about? They said it's a 3D thing where you sit in a section of audience seating while wearing 3D glasses and you appear to blast all around New York with JF. They said it came about by a Universal bigwig getting drunk with JF and promising to make a ride for him.
Although we worked on it, I have not ridden it (and probably won't) as the 3D rides make me queasy. Roller coasters are so intense now. I don't think it's just being old. They really put you into some high "G" maneuvers. Faithful wife and I rode one a few months ago and we staggered around for a spell as though we were drunk. It really thru us for a loop. And some of those 3D coasters.... fuggitaboutit.

The aerial video is compelling. And I like to hear music too.

And you left Picayune for this? I left Picayune to avoid wrack and ruin. My pioneer skills were not up to surviving on truck farming and hunting so I had to emigrate.

I took the grandkids to a water park last summer that had one of those steep enclosed twisty slides. It was totally violent and disorienting. I got shot out the end into the water with no warning and not knowing what end was up. I liked the open designs a lot better.,
That thing looks like a monster. Hope they have good insurance. Never underestimate the capacity of human beings to mangle themselves trying to have fun.
Cool project.

'find something you like to do that people will pay you for and never work another day in your life' I don't suppose it's been as much fun as it looks, but it sounds like they're paying you GOOD JOB!

You stand on a platform in a tube. The floor drops away from you and you drop straight down for a good ways and then dump out in a small pool. Too small according to all of us standing there looking at it. I wouldn't get in it.

It is interesting (sometimes) but not fun. I spent 30 something years working on pipelines and powerlines. I always said I hated Florida and I hated construction surveying. So what am I doing? Working construction in Fla. Never, Ever, say aloud what you don't like and what you don't want to do in life! It is very high pressure, aggravating work. Make a mistake one day and it is concrete the next. Add to that a dozen or more facets of the work and business that put exponents next to the aggregation factor. But... no biggie. Health is good. Kids are near. We are moving to an apt closer to the grand kids so we will have more time with them soon. All is well overall.

In '67 I turned down 9 acres at the corner of Kirkman Rd & L.B. McLoed Rd (dirt at the time) for $5400 because it didn't have any trees just palmettos. 5 years later it was selling for that much a front foot. Ain't hindsight wonderful.
