Our 3 weeks of homelessness has ended. The 5th wheel is repaired and better than original. The roof that came on our camper was so thin that I could dig a hole in it without much effort with my fingernail. In our little town there is an RV repair shop that has been in business for over 20 years that has an excellent reputation for doing quality work.
They removed the air conditioners and vents, stripped off the factory, thin plastic (wasn't rubber) covering, screwed down additional decking over the existing, and then laid down a really tough, two ply, rubber roof.
Things are slack as far as work for me so Faithful Wife and I are going with Baby Dottir to New Orleans for beignets and coffee at Cafe DuMond. We might do a walking tour or look around till it gets too hot.
Take care

So it goes like it goes Like the river flows And time just rolls right on And maybe what's good gets a little bit better And maybe what's bad gets gone

Up and at work. I don't really have any compelling news. The most contentious debate I had yesterday was whether any of the New Testament was written in Aramaic, or just plain old ancient Greek. There are arguments for either and both, depending upon which sources one gives credence to.
(If you are stumped, it wasn't very contentious at all, and that's a good thing. I will point out that I'm not one to cast doubt on Papias of Hierapolis. If you are, we may be at loggerheads, kids...)

Up. coffee, dogs. Need to water the veggies as it will be in the 90s here today. That's about it for the day. I might go see if we can pick up another flat of Hoods. What? You don't know about Hoods? Local PNW strawberry, that taste like Gid intended strawberries to taste. Makes the California berries taste like cardboard.

I gave up loggerheads for Lent several years ago after that run-in with Pappy the Hippopotamus' goons. Nothing new here either. Wife bought several plants over the weekend and they need to go in the ground. 90+ degree evenings interspersed with thunderstorms is making that difficult. Ah, the joy of Virginia summers.

Didja know Antoine's is the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the US? 176 yrs, same family what brung it about to start...

On a wild hair I joined a dating site, Christian Mingle. Got contacted by a DuPont who lives in St. John, USVI.
Nope.

Social Security payday here. Always welcome. Have good ones, even those of you who are always completely wrong.

Good morning. Just got back from an early dentist appointment, just a cleaning but no fun.
Storm that came through last night left a couple of inches of water and a lot of leaves in the pool so that's my next project.
SS payday here too, Rob.
Happy Wednesday.

Watch out for THIS STUFF. Yeah, I saw that. I'm at work here in Winchester which is surrounded by Frederick County (in Virginia, cities are not part of the surrounding county). Which is about 10 miles west of Clarke County. And my house is about 13 miles south in Shenandoah County (unincorporated town of Strasburg). I wonder if deer and things eat that crap? Could kill a couple birds with one stone.

Heyyyyy..... After having already taken my car for an oil change, next up is getting Carrie to her therapy appointment. .75" of rain last night.....sure glad I got the place mowed up yesterday. Only downside is an 8' section of gutter is hanging off the roof and needs to be re-secured. Only supposed to make 84º today.

Well, look at that, email from the bank says that I got my SS too. That will just about cover our share of Friday's recoating of the asphalt road that runs in front of our house. No county maintenance and no HOA, but everyone agreed to pay. We will also have the asphalt part of our driveway done for another $400. We need to park the cars in the yard tomorrow night so we can get out on the road that runs perpendicular. Next door neighbors will be parking there too. If anyone else wants to do that, we may need to charge a fee.
Today's major activity will be taking Mr. H for an eye injection. Every 6 weeks on the left eye and every 8 weeks on the right for wet macular degeneration. The good news is that he can still see.

Good morning. It was 70 when I got up and it's supposed to get up to 109. Went for a pleasant walk by a canal but mostly it'll be a good day for staying inside. Enjoy yours.
