This is D-Day of the lockdown that really isn't. Radio and TV announced that Orange Co was going on lockdown today except for "essential" businesses. I went to the county website and read the list of exceptions. Everything you can imagine is on the list- even pet stores. So aside from Mickey, Universal, sporting events, and dine-in restaurants I don't know who is affected by the proclamation from on high.
Mayhap it's just to get the word out to all the peeps fleeing NYC that we are closed so they will quit flying here.
So far we are still working. I even went out a couple of days and pounded some stakes in the ground. We have hosted the granddaughters for a couple of days but after the oldest goes home today we will try to get more serious about the isolation thingy. Our biggest worry and exposure is Baby Dottir Bethany a Jet Blue flight attendant who is still getting an occasional flight. It's her birthday day after tomorrow and the plan is to bake her a nice cake and leave it outside her apartment door.
Anywho, I am playing more. I crashed a small campfire/drinking party across the lane last night. They seemed to enjoy it but they were all pretty drunk so it wasn't hard to please them. My voice is coming back some but I'm having trouble remembering chords. My CRS syndrome is really kicking.
Stay safe and all that. I'm going to try to get some work done now.

Is this the daily?
Got my haircut--place was empty, but a couple people came in after me.
And I'm thinking maybe a movie tomorrow?
I've heard there's a new one by Tentin Quarantino...

I don't know if it is or not. Making those decisions is waaay above my pay scale. In the past I tried to make a daily just to find that while I dithered about correct comma placement someone with better grammar skills had already posted.
Soooo my post is a generic report on what is going on in my isolation chamber. If the Powers-That-Be deign to anoint it The Daily...cool.

Well, I'll vote for this being the daily. That should doom it.
Looks like a nice day here weather-wise anyway. Still in good shape here, no virus reported so far. Mary has an eye pressure test this morning and I'm supposed to drop her off at the door, which will be locked but they'll let her in and do the test while I wait outside. It's a different life now but it is what it is.
Kind of wondering what got Iowa on to the disaster list. I don't see much reported from there but heard it was added to the list. I wonder what Todd did now.
Have a safe day if you can.

I second the motion, move for a vote. This here thread is hereby the daily.
I was just going to complain about the yard cleanup noise outside my office, when I realized that I get the same darn thing downtown. Right now we're splitting the days in our office - 1/2 in the office in the morning, 1/2 in the office in the afternoon. Some 100% from home.

Good morning ... Oldest son developed symptoms 5 days after we saw him last. Pretty sure he had the stuff though it was mild for him. It's been 13 days since he was here so we should be ok this time around.
Youngest son is a hospital based nurse in Denver, waiting on the current calm before the storm, rationing supplies in anticipation.
Spent yesterday digging up stones and roots, things a bit hurty today.
Cheers

A haiku for today:
Alone at my desk
Savoring the quietude
Awash in Purell

Well, the coffee tastes good, I slept for over 8 hours last night, we completed the walk trough of the new house and the builders will get most of the stuff done today. A few items will remain but they will be addressed. And we heard from the movers. They will meet us at the storage unit 8:00 am saturday. So it’s all good. Still waiting to hear when the new fridge will arrive. Could be a while. We will soldier on with the rv fridge, and my daughters college dorm fridge until the new one gets here. Our new range is very cool. It’s a a Samsung convection gas range with a five burner stove top that has a cast iron griddle thing in the center. Pancakes soon to come. Now we just have to stay healthy.
In other news, our own David sent me a video text playing a nice little blues piece. He sounded great and I’d share it here if I knew how to do it.

Mayhap it's just to get the word out to all the peeps fleeing NYC that we are closed so they will quit flying here. I suspect that's it. Florida's got a significant elderly (thus more vulnerable) population.

I just got back from a longer run in the woods. I'll be making pottery today. I may work on an article about handle making for Ceramics Monthly too.

Lovely song, nice performance. She's the real deal. I'm planning on creating a youtube later today. My arrangement of Hard Times which has been criticized here in the past for rearranging a perfect song. Oh, well. I have now dubbed it Hard Times Lullaby to dodge those criticisms a little. Stay well folks.

My work is all canceled/delayed until further notice. Very quite here, although I did just see a truck drive by. Rain forecast for later today, guess I'll be in the shop working on converting my Weber grill from natural gas to propane.

Good morning.
Awash in First World problems here but [reluctantly] grateful for that! I am getting a good lesson in “needs” and “wants”.
Did a big reorganization project of our basement storage room, the catalyst for which was to clear a path through which to move a refrigerator! We have a small unfinished area around the furnace in our otherwise finished lower level. The frig was in there but I wanted it out in the playroom (soon to be homeschooling classroom). You might see a frig for its internal purpose but I see a huge magnetic board)! 😁. Anyway there was a day of hauling bins out and a day of putting bins back with a bit of purging along the way.
There is work to be done to prep the space and more planning to do to prep the lessons. I canceled my cleaning service so Kim and I will be adding that to the weekend line up of fun activity. 🙄
But we remain grateful for our lives of health and plenty. Be well, Friends. ❤️

Instead of going straight to work I spent some time with Number 1 Granddaughter on a song she is enamored with- Rainbow by Kacy Musgraves. I like it and she wants to sing it so I spent time getting chords, figuring out what key Kacy uses (that disgusting Eb), converting it to D for capo on first fret, and giving it a spin.
Granddaughter is real artsy/crafty/music-ly so I will probably buy her a small guitar soon. She is 7 so maybe she can start soon. I think she will stick with it. Hope so anyway. I know we have probably discussed this but what would be a good size and brand for a little girl? All I know is drednaughts and haven't paid much attention to all those zero type guitars.

When I was teaching full time in a suburban music store, we had a general suggestion to not start guitar till 8 or 9. We would suggest a decent ukele until stronger hands we're developed.

The GS-mini is nice for kids. Also the Ed Sheeran by Lowden is ridiculously well priced (for a Lowden $825) It's a small body 24" scale guitar. Haven't had one in my hands yet. But they're available. Chicago Music Exchange has a couple. But that socialist bastard Trump has closed the stores.
