Hugs and prayers, dear Dub. So many of your symptoms sound like mine. For me its been a frustrating and frightening 3 weeks but today I've suddenly turned a corner. I pray your corner is...just around the corner. Yes, Evan. I had no idea, either. What everyone else said. Heal up and feel better!

Sending healing vibes for Dub and Joy. Hoping all is well. I have been into Cedar Rapids to deliver a gas generator to friends and can attest to it being a mess. Hoping they are safe as well.

Just got off the phone with Joy.
Mark is doing fine but still has problems swallowing and needs oxygen which they have a generator for, no power for a few more days. Their neighbors have helped them clean up a lot of debris from their yard. There is a wall of broken limbs and debris on the curb down the whole street. They do have gas so hot water and cooking are not too bad but without power no fridge. Phone time is limited because charging their phones is difficult, either in the car or on the generator. Joy said it's okay for forum members to call but I'm not going to post her number here. If you need her number PM me.

By the way, their neighborhood seems to be the nadir of destruction in a pretty much destroyed town.

Yay!!!
Their power is back and has stayed on for 8 hours. This will make everyday life a whole lot easier. Joy says the house is full of dust from having the windows open all the time so she'll tackle that first, right after a hot shower for both of them.

Good news. Mark and Joy have enough to cope with without a power outage.

Had a lovely speaker phone chat with Dub and Joy. What a double whammy, the derecho, the Covid restrictions and this pneumonia. All at once. Seesh. He's still hurting a bit, but swears he's on the mend and had plenty of energy for our chat. Man, I love those folks.

By the way, their neighborhood seems to be the nadir of destruction in a pretty much destroyed town. Yes, our area is right in the middle of the worst of the whole storm. I heard from two different reliable sources that winds were recorded at 143 MPH! I'm going to try posting a little but I may get weary and drop off. You people are the kindest, most thoughtful group of friends I've ever come across by accident. Your musicianship is outstanding and... you're each a helluva snappy dresser. I cherish each and every one of you. Thanks to our amazing neighbors and church family, all the downed trees in our yard have been cleared, the whole yard raked, generator procured to power my oxygen concentrator and CPAP. Just a phenomenal effort on our behalf. We are overwhelmed. Fiddlerina is outmowing the lawn. We have a self propelled EGO mower that is very easy to use and seems the equal of any gasoline mower I've used includingToro I still don't feel too great. Lots of weakness, still get some chills and low grade fever. Mental acuity seems to be improving. I think my strength will improve. Too much to hope that my guitar will improve. Love to all, --- Dub
