We went from Laura to Sally on a pretty quick time frame.

Sally is a deceptive b****.
Gulf Shores/Orange Beach/Perdido Key/Pensacola/& points east are looking awful. In this case it was the storm surge and how slow she moved as she passed the coast. Friends with a 2nd floor condo have flooding and damage throughout.

Here are two photos of the campus of Coe College in Cedar Rapids. The top one of course is prior to the derecho of Aug. 10 and the bottom pic is after the storm and cleanup. This is maybe a week or two following the storm.

Wow. We sat under those trees when Peyton (and Roger's daughter) graduated several years ago. What a sad difference.
If you look at the steeple in the middle of the top picture, then measure halfway between that and the left hand side of the picture, along the tree horizon, that's kind of an indication of where Mark and Joy live. Beautiful neighborhood, I have a feeling not so much these days.

Our house would be almost directly behind you. Here, the red pin is the steeple and the blue & white circle is our house. What you’re seeing in the photo to the left of the steeple is probably the old money area east of 19th St. ]

Wow! I have fond memories of the trees on that campus. Graduated from there in the 70s.

Like he or she was hovering over C Avenue.

Look it up in Google Earth. The building with the steeple (Sinclair Auditorium) backs up against 1st Ave. The grassy quad area is NW of the building. To photograph the quad and Sinclair Hall the camera must be looking SE.

VI, my college days were long ago. Coe had good teachers and small classes. I made a lot of friends there, which was in contrast to the few friends that I had in high school. Coe was a good fit for me. I got a full tuition scholarship. Also a loan and an on campus job that covered room and board. Coming from a family where nobody even finished high school, I underestimated other expenses. So money was very tight, but it was a good experience.

My daughter had the same experience, Renee. A great scholarship and an on-campus job, and a very fulfilling experience.

I was using Vorhies as a landmark, but I was looking at the building on the opposite side of campus that is the same color. And now I'm seeing that building in the upper right that was a factory of some sort in the Newbo District. The old money area is exactly what I drove through last week, making my way from Grant Wood Elementary to Harding Middle School, cutting my way through closed roads to Bever Ave winding my way back through streets that are open. That area will never look the same again.

Just so everyone knows, I seem to be recovering nicely. I’ve regained a lot of strength and breathing is normal. 100% SpO2 most of the time. Oxygen equipment is long gone.
Had a full torso CT scan with contrast yesterday which for me also means “kidney protocol,” several hours of IV fluids to flush the contrast stuff. No results back yet.
I have a great new PCP who’s aggressively working to unravel all the problems.
Thank you all for your caring thoughts. You are all great friends and your support is appreciated by me and by Joy too.
Unless the fun side issues are still interesting, I see no reason to keep this thread pinned to the top of the forum. Thanks, everyone.

Rather than allow this thread to fall inglorously off the page, I think we should regularly post videos of our favorite sick dubstep bass drops.
I believe this has long been a favorite genre for ePaul. I imagine he will be along shortly with some killer stuff.

Had a full torso CT scan with contrast yesterday I don't let just anyone scan my torso. Actually, I pretty much do.
