This could be great. I've long thought highly of Sweetwater.

Chuck sold a little while ago, but I haven’t heard a lot of complaints since. mergr.com

Sweetwater isn't too far from me. I've thought about seeking employment there.

I am a big Sweetwater fan. For personal use and for the school's use (mics and related sound equipment for the musical). Their prices good, their selection of equipment is good, their advice is good, their customer service is good, and their shipping is fast.
I just got this email from my guy, Lucas, letting me know my guitar had come in, passed inspection, and is on its way to my local Fed Ex office where it will be held safely until I am ready to pick it up. I also got a phone call, as I always do.

All my electric playing buddies hang out on Reverb. They are constantly buying and selling pedals.

Chicago Music Exchange started Reverb. They are pretty good people. Competition is competition.

They set it on fire? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Actually, yes, they did. After a fashion. The top is "torrified" Adirondack, a red spruce top that has been heat treated, a treatment Martin refers to as their "Vintage Tone System". www.martinguitar.com/blog-070220-test-of-time-martin-aged-guitars.htmlI don't know if VTS is good or bad or a nothing but markup deal, but I do know that the only other Martins with VTS Addy tops go for ten grand or so. And now I'm getting a Martin short-scale 000 with an VTS Addy top for two grand. Me and the Major will both have toasted Martins (only mine will have a playable neck). Plus, the frets are "plecked". I almost forgot that. Double plus, it has Adirondack with some wide grain. Don't know why, how, or if it matters, but I do know the two very best sounding Addy guitars I can recall playing, guitars that have stuck with me in my mind's ear, had wide-grained tops. So, that's what I wanted, a wide-grained top; a goofy-grained Addy top. And that's what I'm getting. So, for free shipping and a 45-day trial period, I decided to give it a trial. If it sounds better than my dear Taylor, I will keep it. If it doesn't, I will return it (and my Sweetwater guy said he would send me a return shipping label that will only cost me $20). If I like it better than my Taylor, I will bring it to IJ. If not, I will send it back for $20. www.martinguitar.com/guitars/000-16-StreetMaster.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwgaeYBhBAEiwAvMgp2tHNpB23QVs6ISln7RjCvqTOZVvWETI-gT_Viis3Dmhc1c25PfRzBBoCMqYQAvD_BwE

7.5% fee is higher than the 5% fee Reverb charges. I wouldn’t sell anything in exchange for a gift card.

I have my tenor guitar that my buddy made, the top is both bearclaw and wide grain, and it’s a super sweet little guitar. Have to get some work done on the neck, but it still sounds great.

I like the dark look, but I would have skipped the white blotches, given the choice. Maybe I can get Marshall to even out the paint job.

(I know traditional Martin 000 are short-scale, but prior to the Streetmaster, the 15 and 16 series 000's have been long scale... I think, I'm not a Martin guy. Not yet anyway. Maybe I will be come Tuesday.)

I never thought of ePaul as a terrified Martin guy. It will be an amazing guitar if it sounds better than the Taylor 712 (which I got my grubby mitts on at IJ when ePaul wasn't looking)
My guy at Sweetwater is Dave. I was casually (and foolishly) looking at inexpensive semi-hollow body electrics and emailed a question about neck profiles. I immediately got a friendly phone call from Dave, who was quite chatty. He is a bassist who used to carry heavy amps to gigs. He texted me a while back. I haven't bought anything from Sweetwater.

The finish is supposed to give you a blues on a street corner with tips in a open case sort of vibe. I thought the one I played looked kind of cool in an artificially aged sort of way. When I played guitar with the crazy partner, we went to Sweetwater. It was some time ago but was crazy hectic there at the time. I have ordered things from them and I get my order the next day, which is nice. I prefer smaller, friendly music stores and guitar shops with nice people working, but they are getting harder to find and it is easy having some guy in a big, brown truck bring things to me.

I only do it for the candy. It used to be just randomly scattered in the box. Now it’s prepackaged in little plastic bags.
