Couldn't find my old and now maligned SM58. Must be in a box at my shop. Whatevs.
At church we use a mess of $$ Sennheiser wireless vocal mics that sound fab.

While we're talking dynamic microphones, here's a lengthy comparison done for the Sennheiser MD435 vs several other mics including the Shure Sm 58. I was considering a nice dynamic and heard about the MD435 so I was looking for a review and stumbled on this. I almost popped for the Senn MD435 until I heard the comparison to the Shure KSM8 at about 9:30 into the monotonous comparisons. of course this guy is just talking, not singing, but the Shure KSM8 struck me as the only mic that was stronger and fuller than the Senn MD435. And it's a little less expensive.
So, I bought a KSM8 and use it regularly now.

Since everyone's up for raiding your wallet unecessarily, here's my wife's mic. Of course her voice will probably beat anyone's here as witnessed by her verifiable history, but you'll never get there if you don't try shooting for the stars. And this mic will obviously get you there. Trust me. Neumann

Sure, don't ask the guy that designs and builds microphones for his input.
My opinion, don't look at prices, go someplace and try some mics out, buy the one that makes your voice sound the way you like.
The EVs and Sennheisers (to my ear with male voices of a certain timber) always sound better than the shure workhorses that everybody else thinks of so highly. That being said, the latest iteration of the EV dynamics aren't nearly as good as the older ones that I still use.
If you want to go mic shopping one day, I'm sure we can make that happen.

Your name came up in my very first post, Joe. I'm liking Bill's offer, but I do have more practical guitar matters in mind. We should indeed arrange a music shopping trip.

Does the same go for bullhorns, or are they the same thing?

Does the same go for bullhorns, or are they the same thing? Bull horns are found on male cows. I have some guitar picks made out of bull horns. You live in the country. Go look at some male cows. You will see horns. Bull horns. Jeez!

Does the same go for bullhorns, or are they the same thing? Think Rudy Vallee, not Chief Wiggums.

Megaphones are highly underrated and environmentally friendly. Not in my environment.
