Rainy here, no riding but did my pushup routine. Thought about getting a haircut (and shave)--maybe tomorrow. Went to window shop specialized bikes, they look nice but overall they require too many compromises/adaptations, so probably not.

Back to work for me today. Ugh. Coffee slurped, packed lunch made, all quiet in the apartment.
My daughter had a bestie spend the night, who moved upstate with her folks during the pandemic and stayed in their vacation house. So, the girls, who are close, don't get to spend too much time together. What did we all do without email, social media, and Face Time? Write letters? Ask permission to make long-distance phone calls that were billed by the minute? I wrote many letters to far-away friends when I was young. Now, there's just one pal I have known since I was 13, and we write to each other on paper occasionally just for old times' sake.

Good morning. We'll have rain and temperatures in the 50s. I have to take my Jeep in at 8:15 to get the tailgate fixed. After I scheduled that, I learned that we're interviewing a candidate for rector at our church today and I'll need to attend two events on the schedule. Ordinarily I could walk. It's a half-mile away. But with the rain my wife will give me a ride.
Enjoy your day.

Off to Amazon the county.
You've got reasons a-plenty for going. This I know.

Another gray day, with some rain coming later today. Work beckons. At our annual holiday party, held this past weekend so we could actually reserve a location, I won a "beginner" drone. After downloading a bunch of apps including from the FAA, getting an FAA registration, passing a test, and filing a flight plan, I tested it out yesterday. It was actually pretty fun. Because I'm pretty close to an airport I had to keep it under 100 feet, but that's actually pretty high. I'm looking forward to taking it to our riverside park to check out some of the views. I won't bore anyone with the video I shot, as most drone footage pretty much looks like every other drone footage.

My nephew has turned droning into a livelihood. I have been known to drone on endlessly regarding topics about which no one else is interested. But now I can do it with a remote.

Rainy cold Monday to start a rainy cold week.
Lots of granddaughter time and maybe some workshop time. I have a list of quiet workshop tasks (sharpening, power tool maintenance, etc.) that I can do whilst Dawn is working in her home office above the workshop. Screwed up a simple picture frame last week, so today I'm starting over.

I used to regularly exchange letters with my cousin, who was the same age. Looking back, we had very little to say.
Got over a half inch of rain yesterday. Rained off and on all night and so far we have .62" for the day. No doubt some events scheduled for today will be cancelled.

39 degrees and rain.
It was a bad night for sleeping, I awoke at 2:11, having heard, or thinking I heard a loud noise. I got up up, grabbed the 9 mm and investigated, but found nothing. I didn't sleep much after that.
I do have a skiing question this morning. If a skier falls in the woods and no one sees him fall, did he really fall? Asking for a friend.

Rain most of the morning today. We are giving away a couple of recliners to make room for new furniture also set to arrive today. Hopefully the rain will end as expected.

We're having the same weather as LJ. Here it's a cold spell. In Indiana I guess it's a warm one.

My nephew has turned droning into a livelihood. Wow! He’s probably the only folksinger making a living at it these days.

If a skier falls in the woods and no one sees him fall, did he really fall? Asking for a friend. Ask the staff in the ER. They didn’t see him fall either.

I do have a skiing question this morning. If a skier falls in the woods and no one sees him fall, did he really fall? Asking for a friend. That's one of those deep thought questions, sort of like "If a man says something and his wife isn't there to hear him, is he still wrong?"

If a skier falls in the woods and no one sees him fall, did he really fall? Asking for a friend. Ask the staff in the ER. They didn’t see him fall either. Except that only a very small fraction of people who fall end up in the ER. Last year Colorado had a daily, season average of 77,000 - 78,000 skiers per day. Average daily ER visits was around 55. So .07% of skiers visit an ER, and my guess is that less then 1% of those were injured skiing the trees.
