Don’t expect a video. If you want a video, go to YouTube and pick out your own.
The sun shines. Enjoy it. Buy some Girl Scout cookies. Send them to me.

Good morning
21F-36F mostly sunny.
Mossman done, I hope. Neck ended up having a compression or S curve. Something that may only show up once you put the neck under tension. I heat pressed the neck and that seems to have taken care of the problem. Really nice guitar but they seem to not have cared much when they made it. Wider string spacing at the bridge but they did not widen the neck to match. Bridge plate too thin so the strings pulled right through it in no time at all. 7th guitar made in the Texas shop.
Tyler came by yesterday and helped me rearrange some of the shop, cut down a bench height. He'll be by tomorrow night and I'll see if I can get one more grandson over to help move machinery and benches. The lighter stuff I can do as long as I take proper breaks.
31 Days Until Spring.

I like Thin Mints and the shortbread ones, whatever they are called. It’s hard to find a bad GS cookie, though.

Next thing ya know there is LJ with a table in front of Walmart selling cookies. Bill will probably loan you his Girl Scout outfit.

I watched the Nashville songwriters documentary that John posted last night. Pretty good. One thing they all shared seemed to be enormous energy/passion, big voices, groove oriented rhythms, and just letting it go with reckless abandon when they played and sang. Definitely doing what they were born to do.
I went to the Sunday night open mic at the Bluebird years ago and all the performers seemed to share those characteristics.
I enjoyed it but was a little uncomfortable with the truck song part. Seemed just a little exploitive to have a camera crew present for what probably would have been better kept private.

Good morning. It's 8:07 locally. We'll have a range of about 50 to 65.
One of the defining characteristics of a desert is the high range of temperatures in a day. That can have a major effect on outdoor activities. Outdoor activities are much of what my family and I do, even in very hot weather. My son takes the light rail to and from work. My local daughter runs or walks every day. So discussing the weather isn't idle chitchat to us.
Stay well one and all.

Good morning. It was 64 degrees at Scotch O'clock yesterday but we were below freezing this morning and only 40 now. 3 days post surgery and my right eye has some peripheral vision but the middle is still looking through that thin blue curtain and there's still a black floater moving around in it. I wasn't expecting this and I just hope it clears up. Next follow up is Tuesday. Congratulations to all who got clearer vision from the Cataract surgery. It can't be redone I'm told so this may have been a mistake. I'll keep putting the eye drops in and hope for the best.

Clear cold and breezy. Ice-covered streets and sidewalks from the Thursday evening snowstorm/sleetstorm/slushstorm. Snowblower is clogged with frozen slush - I might have burned out a drive belt trying to use it yesterday. One more thing to fix.
Granddaughters descending upon us in a couple of hours. A trip to the childrens' museum with twin toddlers will be an adventure.

What a surprise! It’s raining in Vancouver!
All my girls are coming over today for dinner, and this is good. Going to be a lot harder to make it happen going forward, as our eldest is moving to Seattle for work. We’ll go visit of course, and maybe go to some Kraken/Canucks games.

Morning all. Another spectacular Wordle fail today. But. It’s finally going to get above 70 degrees. Heading over to the street fair in a bit, to get some local flame raisins and a breakfast burrito. After that, I plan on breaking out the ebike for a spin.

Back from banking, plane-spotting and picking up chicken at Pollo Campero, really good stuff. Hoping the sun finishes melting the glacier on my driveway.
Lynne Warfel is highlighting Oscar-winning scores from the '70s and '80s on today's installment of "Saturday Cinema" on KSJN. Some powerful memories being triggered.
Out of Africa, Passage to India, Star Wars, Chariots of Fire, Doctor Zhivago, Godfather II, E.T., The Right Stuff, etc., etc.

We finally got the last document needed to finish our taxes, so I did. I've already reviewed the federal and fixed a couple of errors, but need to go back and review the state before discussing with Mr. H.
It took 9 days after my cataract surgery to stop seeing streaks of light from headlights and street lamps at night. That means that I skipped another choir rehearsal this week, but the song that we're doing tomorrow is one that we've done a couple of times before. Now I feel that I can safely drive at night, at least until I get the other eye done. Many friends say that they had floaters for a while. I haven't experienced those. Never heard of the blue tint effect, but Dr. Google says it's not uncommon.
Heading to the UPS Store to ship back our DirecTV equipment. Then we hope we're completely done with them, although they'll still have a chance to mess with us. Service was disconnected a few days ago and we have a zero balance. We may add more streaming services at some point, but so far YouTube TV has been sufficient for our needs at less than half the cost.

Barb and I are headed off to a newish diner in North St. Paul this evening, a place I've had breakfast at a couple of times, but neither lunch nor dinner, so wider options tonight. Including, on the appetizer list, bacon-wrapped cheese curds. Gonna be hard to resist trying those!
