The specific claim that is resisting confirmation is in boldface, particularly the "largely" part. You've now got some 900+ J6 defendants that have been largely rotting in a DC prison at the Justice Department's behest for 2 years now The Politico story is one of several that cites the number of defendants--I've already linked to one such--but the only information I found on the number of those still in jail awaiting trial is in that WUSA story. To which I can add this one, from the same source, that only affirms that "several" were being held without bond, and why: www.wusa9.com/article/news/verify/why-capitol-riot-defendants-being-held-without-bond-before-trial-january-6-congress/65-1e4d4dd6-eded-4187-85f1-d4dfcc3a9519I'm not sure exactly what Fanone's tattoos are supposed to have to do with the truthfulness of his account. And I've seen video of what happened to him. I supposed I might be inclined to make a public fuss if it had happened to me.

Maybe you can do some research on the conditions there if you're held for 18+ months on misdemeanor charges.

From the WUSA9 site I linked: Our Verify team turned to Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor now at West Coast Trial Lawyers, who said several Capitol Riot defendants remain in jail awaiting trial, even though some were arrested months ago.
“Of the hundreds and hundreds of folks who have been arrested in the Capitol riots, the majority of them, most of them have received some sort of bail,” Rahmani said. “But the folks that engaged in the most violent acts, they are being detained without bond.”
A landmark decision on bond for Capitol Riot suspects handed down by the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia is part of the reason why.
In the case of United States v. Munchel, a three judge panel ruled those who “actually assaulted police officers and broke through windows, doors, and barricades, and those who aided, conspired with, planned, or coordinated such actions, are in a different category of dangerousness than those who cheered on the violence or entered the Capitol after others cleared the way.”
The ruling instructed judges to release Capitol riot suspects, even if charged with serious crimes, unless the Department of Justice demonstrates a specific threat that defendant poses to the community.
“The Court of Appeals said...the mere fact that you have these very strong political beliefs, that you had what may be considered a weapon on your person, that's not sufficient to hold someone indefinitely if they didn't engage in the most violent acts,” Rahmani said. "The court did, however, distinguish between folks that actually did assault police officers did, you know, break windows force open doors and those types of things.” The conditions in the DC jail are a different matter, and one that deserves attention and (where needed) correction. Jails are often nasty places, and even violent jerks ought to be treated decently. But that is not where this conversation began.

There's a link to a pdf of the court filing of Dominion’s opposition to Fox's motion for summary judgement. IANAL but at first, quite lengthy glance, it seems a fairly wide ranging and very damning account.
If you click on it, the pdf link is in a tweet following this one -

Amen in all regards, including the last sentence.

Oooo.... Tucker's started to run through the videos from Jan. 6, absolutely destroying the whole Jan. 6 fraud that's been presented.
Tonight he went through footage showing what the "Qanon Shaman" did to earn his 4 year prison sentence. Fascinating to see his guided tour from Capitol police officers.
And then there's the footage of Brian Sicknik doing his job in the Capitol basically picking up some junk and throwing it away after he was supposedly beaten to death with a fire extinguisher (time stamped doncha know).
And then there's footage of Ray Epps, the FBI operative who's never been arrested despite egging people on to storm the Capitol.
Now I see why all y'all hate Tucker. He's exposing your side as shameless liars.

When tucker goes out to eat and visits one of his regular spots for a salad, the wait staff know in advance to bring him russian dressing.

Another Twitter idiot that you seem to love. Yep, Chansley entering the building like everyone else. Peacefully, unarmed, through an open door past Capitol police. Then Tucker, as opposed to this moron, follows him as he gets a tour of the place from 10 or 11 Capitol police officers. Never breaking anything or engaging in any violence. He even stops to offer a public prayer for the helpful officers. And he's in prison for 4, count 'em, 4 years. Worst insurrection in our history, my butt. Liars, all liars.

Film of bull horn and spear-tipped flagpole carrying Chansley and fellow insurrectionists entering a Capitol door smashed open by the mob. There is other video of Chamsley near the front of the throng as they overturned barriers and overwhelmed futile police efforts to stop them on the steps outside. ia902307.us.archive.org/10/items/Cwxj9RMtddritN4Ds/Cwxj9RMtddritN4Ds.mpeg4Chamsley is apparently due to be released from his Virginia prison on the 9th of July.

In the video: At 0:52, door kicked open by rioter who entered via broken window. No police in view.
At 1:02, shaman enters along with gaggle of others. At 1:04 his flagpole has some kind of extension at top. Still no police in view.
Freeze at 1:08, lower-right corner. Pointy finial clearly visible as shaman exits the frame.

At 1:42, red ballcap-wearing guy with what looks like a 4-foot-long piece of 2x4 lumber.
At 1:47, lower left, a guy wearing a modified-flag shirt with a baseball bat.
Throughout: lots of flagpoles, mostly with conventional ball finials or eagles or none at all.
Call me a wuss, but I would not care to meet either of these dudes in a parking lot after dark. Nor do I know how dangerous the shaman might be (look up "cosplay"), but I would nevertheless be cautious around a fool carrying a long pole with a pointy end, even if it also carried Old Glory.
Most of the people in the later waves look like gawkers (lots of phone-videos being taken), but the first wave 1) entered through windows they broke, 2) kicked the doors open from the inside to admit more, and 3) were not dressed like tourists but often outfitted with helmets and other "tactical" costumery. (And to be fair, the first guy through the window carried nothing, was wearing a watchcap, and put his hands up when confronted by a Capitol cop but then wandered off while the cops retreated. Though he might have been the one who broke the window with a piece of lumber.)

That's when those MAGA cretins with flagpoles are most dangerous. Ask Ashley Babbitt.
