16 degrees out there. C’mon. This is getting really old with me. I want some sunny warmth and I want it now! Wake up and do something about it.

Younger people seem to hold to the viewpoint that work is optional. Two of our recent hires decided they had better things to do yesterday, leaving three of us to carry two complete routes ourselves. My neck is holding on by a thread (My, that's a skinny neck you've got there, old man!), and by the end of the day I was miserable. I pop stuff as a last resort, but naproxin has been my friend for a few days now. Today is Amazon. Curiously, the act of delivering parcels is easier on my neck than is doing the repetitive stuff required of mail delivery.

Good morning.
7F-37F sunny.
Usual Sunday stuff and then some un-Sunday stuff. Trip to Sam's Club or maybe Costco. Kaiah got the Sam's family membership we use so DaWife and I might get a Costco family membership to share with the girls. Deals to be had at both places and the Costco is closer to us. Also to Best Buy to look around as I need a new PC tower with Windows 11. I could limp along on 10 until it totally breaks down like I did with my old Vista PC. I'll look at all 3 places.
LJ quit your complaining, it's colder here and I'm out of cookies, another thing to look for today.
Spring has sprung, shoot that damn woodchuck.

They say Spring starts tomorrow but the forecast says we'll still be feeling Winter for awhile. 2nd Cataract implant tomorrow morning. Follow up Tuesday morning and the first few recovery days are tough for me anyway. My right eye will have to do all the seeing but without glasses it won't be too good and I won't be able to get glasses for a month or so. I just hope this all works out well.
Y'all be well, OK?

She woke with a start. Maybe it had been a nightmare that prompted such a dawning, but it suddenly occurred to her that if he outlived her, he would be the one telling their story from then on. And he ALWAYS got it wrong. When he told their stories, that is. He always got them wrong.
It's like it doesn't even matter to him what they were wearing, or what day of the week (much less what season) it was, or who said what. And somehow he never seemed to describe her proper role in the scenes he painted.
And he would be the one telling the stories for all time?
She was going to have to kill him.
She didn't want to, mind you. But what other option was there?
The thought of killing him bothered her most of the morning, but by early afternoon she was warming to the idea. After all, she knew how to tell a story. And with her being the one left behind, she could make sure everyone remembered him well. Really, she was doing him a favor.

LJ quit your complaining, it's colder here and I'm out of cookies, another thing to look for today. I could never be a Minnesotan. It’s hard enough being a Hoosier. Speaking of cookies, where are those Girl Scouts when you need them? John, Barb says you are reading her thoughts and…hey, wait a minute!

As stated before I don't buy Girl Scout cookies anymore. The gross profit goes to the bakers not the Scouts.
Sam's Club and Costco sell huge boxes of tasty cookies for cheap. But getting good sugar free ones is difficult. I mean who ever heard of diet cookies? Good cookies are not supposed to be diet conscience.

Sunny, gonna be ABOVE FREEZING today, imagine! Dog walkers will be back in their shorts. I need to make a Trader Joe's run this morning, so I've been pursuing the Fearless Flyer: www.traderjoes.com/home/ffSo far, I'm sold on the Italian Wedding Soup, Chicken Sausage Breakfast Burrito, Chocolate Caramel Hearts, Naan Crackers and Kung Pao Chicken. Plus the usual essentials, including peeled hard-boiled eggs, which are such an indulgent treat. The greyhound twins and their human just trotted past my house, wearing sweaters. This afternoon, they'll prolly be nekkid.

I want to read the rest of the book.

Bruce, best of luck tomorrow and following. I won't tell my own tale of cataract surgeries because it isn't over yet. I don't go back for a refraction until 4/5.
Church this morning. Choir is not singing. On the way home we'll stock up at Total Wine.
After 3 meals out in a week and too much corned beef and cabbage and potatoes, Mr. H and I both need to detox and take off a couple of extra pounds. We'll be watching what we eat for a while. After we get through some unhealthy leftovers. Breakfast this morning will be some whole grain cereal and blueberries from Costco.

I went for a nice two hour motorcycle ride yesterday. I was trying to find the nearby, offroad trail that a friend took me on last year, but I took a wrong turn. I am loving my little Honda 300.
Back to work this morning. My paralegal had been using Outlook Task for our reminders and calendaring. Clients were categorized by color and subject. Every task or reminder for the last 8 years was related to the particular client, so she had a running history of everything she or I had worked on for the last 8 years, including attachments of important emails. A fine system, especially for the person who creates it. Not so good for me, trying to learn it. So I stopped and am creating my own task list in Google's task program. Infinitely easier for me to use. Probably because I am the person creating it.

You really ought to write a book, John. That right there is brilliant.

I’m still hacking up pieces of lung, but feeling much better, as is Susan.
We’re going to be moving a bunch of stuff around the house next weekend, as my daughter moves bedrooms. I’ll get the futon out of my guitar study, and have way better space, so looking forward to it. We spent some time this morning planning that.
What won’t be fun is moving the bowllex. They don’t go through doors when they are assembled. Not looking forward to taking it apart and putting it back together again.

Removing the cataracts will just take the blurry effect away and then glasses will have to correct the vision. In some cases they can make the implants in ways to correct some vision problems but they can't correct mine so I will have to wear glasses, probably 2 pair, one for distance and another for reading. Custom implants cost about $2000 per eye and then I'd still need glasses for what they couldn't correct. So, as opposed to $4000 plus glasses, I just went with clear implants and the necessary glasses won't cost $4000. Over time, assuming I live awhile my prescriptions may change in which case I'll need new glasses but the implants can only be done once. After discussing it with the surgeon we decided the custom implants wouldn't make sense for me and Medicare covers the clear ones. Custom implants are out-of-pocket. I think I can get 2 pair of glasses, the distance ones with transition lenses so I won't need sunglasses for a lot less than $4000. YMMV in Canada of course.

Back from TJ's and the car wash. Watching the F1 race from Saudi Arabia. After putting away the groceries, I warmed up a breakfast burrito, a new TJ's item to me -- chicken sausage, scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes, onion. Really big and -- once I added some Cry Baby Craig's hot sauce -- very tasty. (Marty -- you and Da Wife could prolly share one.) Tonight, Spatchcock Chicken:

Back in Stoughton after an early morning trip to Milwaukee, with daughter, to take Granddaughter, to dance practice. Only about 3 weeks till she heads to Montreal to compete in this year's world Championships of Irish Dance.
We had time to kill so we went to the Sawmill Restaurant in Richfield (suburb of Milwaukee) for breakfast. I would highly recommend the restaurant. It's an old, or old looking building, with a lot of character, and antiques. Breakfast and service were very good, but not cheap.

Up, coffeed and breakfast. Lazy day today, trying to find new smoke detectors for the trailer, that fit the old footprint so I don’t have drill new holes. Rain returns today, supposed to get about a half inch over the next few days, I too, am tired of winter.

Not sure about how much would be covered here or not, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to get new glasses then have them replace your lenses again. I asked because I do know people who either didn’t need glasses anymore, or just needed something simpler, but they would have had less complex problems. Susan and I would probably be in the same boat.
