Here you go...
Successfully (so far) re-attached the A string on a classical that had popped off at the tie block. Trimmed off a little that had come unwound, and was careful to use as little as possible at the bridge, then the extra on the roller was just enough that it worked.
Had a new set of basses out to use, but tried this first.

Got wordle in two, waffle with five guesses to spare. That's pretty much as good as it gets. But today I'm on route 6. That's pretty much as bad as it gets. My luck has run out.

The view from last night's Phillies/Cubs game. Cubs lost.

Daughter had planned to stay in Chicago last night after the concert she and a friend went to; but there was a mix-up and their reservation was lost. So they arrived home around 4:45 AM. Thankful they made it home safely, and glad they have a story to tell.

Much clearer today. I can actually see the trees on the golf course hills. The sky is still pretty gray. Alexa says our air quality is better, too. Deep breaths for everyone!

The AQI is 167 in New York right now. I'm taking short, shallow breaths, and the windows are closed. Even so, my eyes are burning.

Morning. In the office for a bit to sign checks then heading back home to bed. I haven't been this sick in a long time. Thinking it's a case of strep. We are shutting the shop down 2 days next week for the holiday so hopefully in the next 4 days I turn the corner. It's been 6 days of this. Sorry for you guys dealing with the smoke - I run a Honeywell Hepa large room air purifier at both home and office www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BWYO53G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They can really help or give you a sanctuary room to run to.

Good morning
64F-86F sunny, we have blue sky not brown sky.
Doc appointment this morning and a short "we need" list from the grocery store. Then down to the shop.

Up and ar em. Mow the lawn day early before it gets too hot. And a bike ride, then into the air conditioned house. That’s all folks.

Steve, get well soon.
It's very pleasant here although the afternoon won't be. The crew from the tree service was at it all day yesterday. We've lived in this house since 1988 and never done real maintenance. Suddenly a big chunk of the back yard is radically different and better.
I'll be going to get blood drawn this morning to see how my sodium is doing.
That's about it. Enjoy the day if it lets you.

Morning.
Sunny and Blue. Cherries are turning red. Hoping to get one of the tomatoes to start turning. Got a bunch of big ones that are getting close. Still looks to be a tomato year like no other.

So I guess today marks the mid-point of the year? It sure is flying by.
Typical summer heat here. Business is a little slow today; I suspect folks are getting out of town for holiday activities.

I am making it a short work day, then an old buddy is coming over for dinner and a sleepover - just like when we were in the 7th grade, except that he is flying home to Alaska the next day.
My dear wife is at the coast trying to find a plumber to fix a leak that has our cheapo basement flooring warping. I had considered trying the repair, but my last few attempts at similar tasks have not gone well. Hopefully, she can find someone who will actually show up. The Oregon Coast is a notoriously difficult place to find reliable tradespeople.

Good day, checking in late after a particularly challenging workweek, a combination of factors I won't bore you with. Looks like I'll be working on the 4th, but holiday shifts are 5 1/3 hours and you get paid for 8 (union shop). In important What Is Bill Eating Lately news, I motored up the road yesterday to Old Southern, my go-to BBQ place these days, and noticed something I had not seen on the menu before: chicken wings. They do a dry rub on them and then smoke them over hickory; they never touch a fryer or a skillet. Brought some home with tangy slaw and mac 'n' cheese as sides, and there was some good eatin' right there (for a couple of days). Car goes in Monday for some expensive work -- rack and pinion replacement because STEERING MATTERS. Four-wheel alignment is required as part of the deal, but I have a coupon that will save me $150 on the whole shebang, which buys a lot of wings. Some geniuses decided that it would be a good idea to have a NASCAR race in downtown Chicago this weekend -- views differ on that one. Something like 250 manhole covers had to be welded shut, for instance. I may tune in just to see if I can pick out Marshall's face in the crowd.
