We have been daily-less too long this morning so I will step up. Looks like a rainy day on tap. Enjoy a hearty breakfast and do something fun today.
I have discovered I have a bunch of V Picks. No idea where they came from as I have no memory of ever getting them. Does anyone here use them? I am not sure but they may be acrylic? They sell for a few bucks each according to a quick Amazon check. They are a mystery to me.

Off to do a set at the Kalona Bluegrass Festival then home to prepare for show near Amana this evening.
Gonna be a long hot sticky day.

Good morning. I was distracted by home-place things and am just now logging in. We're watching the F1 from Budapest and lamenting Hamilton's current situation.
Chores coming up; shower/bath drains still clogged and plumbers coming tomorrow; sunny and a high of 87° in New York today; hoping to get some more guitar playing in after chores are finished; cabinet maker supposedly coming tomorrow to finish installation of cabinets—veneers and doors still MIA. It drags on.
Wishing a very Happy Birthday to one of my favorite fiddle players, Alison Krauss.

I have a couple of v picks around here somewhere. Noisy little buggers.
Off to Amazon the county. Two developments that may or may not make a difference:
1. I read a news story out of Elkhart this morning. It seems there is a stalled $100 million Amazon distribution center in Elkhart. Maybe if they finish it, things will change in Kosciusko County. Maybe not.
2. Amazon has started a new (for lack of a better explanation) Doordash for Amazon. You can become an Amazon distributor. Apparently there is a reputable business owner in Warsaw who is launching one.

I made I back home yesterday about 6:00 pm, after dropping my SIL and his brother off in Souix City for the start of RAGBRAI. Bikers were heading out, starting at 6:00 am this morning, 77 miles today.
Along the Missouri, in Souix City, high up on a bluff we saw the Sgt Charles Floyd Jr memorial. There is a large obelisk at the site. It was interesting to see, I never knew exactly where he was buried.

Breakfast was moose sausage scramble. Coffee being sipped. We’ll try to get a little hike in before it gets too hot.
We’ve got a few fires starting up around us to the north and south so here we go.

Good morning. All is well. Our cabin backs up to a national forest and my wife and I were both out early walking. It will be a hot afternoon for Flagstaff, but much better than being in Phoenix.

Eric and I will get together this morning with the goal of getting a good recording of Leroy Carr's "Midnight Hour Blues." If we get something worthwhile, I'll drop the links to it here later today.

Up, coffee and a breakfast burrito. Had to deal with a yellow jacket nest last night, hopefully I got all the little nastys. Yellow jackets can have a serious attitude problem, and this nest was right by our tomato plants, so after dark I sprayed the crap out of the nest. Fingers crossed.
Bike ride and maybe pinnacle later.

Bill, my daughter just said that she may as well learn the Dutch National Anthem, since Verstappen keeps winning....

Looking forward to it. I was so pleased to discover, once I moved to Indiana, that Scrapper Blackwell and Leroy Carr had connections to Indianapolis.

Early in my career, I had a client in Sioux City and one in South Sioux City (a city on the NE side). We'd head up there a few times a year to visit clients. I had a number of NSFW adventures in Sioux City, back in the dark ages of business entertainment.

I'm still trying to get my head around Perez's crew achieving a 1.9-second pit stop.
