Just so we don't have to look at the end of a long thread.

I took some pictures of Vinton on a walk this morning. Since there is only one person in any of the pictures (one I took for Millring), I won't post them here. But I will post a link. Pictures of Vinton, 2023

LJ, we're working on digging the latrine, but the ground is a little hard here. It might take a while.

It will take me a while to post pics, as I have to edit down the sheer number of them to a manageable amount. I did get Saturday night pics of every performer; however, they are all blue.

That wide-angle really did a number on my belly! (Although at least it beefed up my arms!)

John, thanks for all your efforts in documenting our weekend. You did a great job. I would suggest that a selection of your weekend shots should be added to our SoundHole Idiot Jam memories folder here on our forum for archival purposes. Outside links can be broken over the years.

Lots of people are talking about this weekend on other threads, but I thought I'd do a quick synopsis here for future reference.
Like I probably say every year, this Ijam had a special vibe to it It just felt really good to get together with everyone after a long time. It was great to see everyone, which of course includes Dennis' (MNhermit)'s sisters, who both painted the weeked with a great aura. And it was great to see people we haven't seen for a long time. Alan, it was great to see you and what a treat for me to relax and hear you play your music in my own backyard.
Getting together Friday night to just make music just for ourselves and for each other was an experience that anyone who wasn't here missed out on.
Concert: Great. It might not have been a huge audience but it wasn't small either, and we wowed them. Any of us who were there can testify to that. And thank you to the Radtkes being there so the evening was organized as opposed to a disjointed group of goofy musicians wandering about like cattle in a pasture wondering where to go next. We need that direction and we got it.
As we gathered on the stage for the annual Irene Goodnight group sing, Dub, on the microphone, thanked me for the work I put into making Ijam happen again. He made the comment that while I say it only takes three phone calls that I put a lot more work into it than that.
And I have to admit that he's right. It actually takes two phone calls and a text, I hate typing into a little phone screen with my thumbs.
What isn't a lot of work is thanking the people who actually did make this all possible:
I told Deb, who is Phil's wife that while she and Phil and then Darryl had a nice dinner around the dining room table last year, that this year they someone started a juggernaut and that next year people will be coming and knocking on the door on A Avenue whether anything is planned there or not.
It would take me a page to describe how my two daughters, Taylor and Peyton, contributed to this. They know how much I fumble around and they opened my throat many times and poured down a big dose of common sense.
The Vinton Historical Society is new to owning the Depot, and they were happy to let us use the place and made us feel welcome.
Nick Fisher, how is the proprietor of the Merc, is a welcoming soul who supports anything we do.
The Garrison library ladies are entirely grateful for the fundraising opportunity, and they show that by the work they put into making the concert a relxing place to be.
The new owners of the Cobblestone allowed us to run the front lobby the way we did, and from talking to other Ijammers they were quite hospitable for the entire weekend.
The people at 218 treated us graciously at Sunday breakfast as they always do.
I know that I spent 4 hours sitting in 218 today. I don't know of any other customer who has done that. And I enjoyed every second of it because it was spent with good friends. Another great Idiotjam is on the books. Thank you, everyone, for all of you making it a great weekend.
