Good morning. It'll be sunny, breezy and mild here.
Our church vestry (board) holds periodic events where parishioners can ask questions and grouse. One is today at 9:00 and I have to attend. Otherwise there's nothing planned.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning!
I guess spring is officially here, the red winged blackbirds have returned to the area.
75 degrees forecast for today, I'll be outside enjoying it.

oh, forgot to mention...I'm on a bit of a roll with the word games. I know how much luck determines Wordle, but three of the past four days I've gotten it in 3, I've solved Connections each day, and 3/4 Waffles with 5 guesses to spare. I suppose tomorrow I'll fail at all, but tonight it's ALL glory! Well, I called it. Too many possibilities (and a little gremlin made me want to waste a guess on a word simply because it was unusual) and I failed Wordle. I guess I should just go back to bed.

Red winged blackbirds are back here, too, and are dive bombing the geese like they own the place. Love it. Should hit 70 today. I bought a reverb pedal for my Pro Jr amp and this is how it arrived. Something tells me this isnβt quite right. JohnB will know for sure. At least Sweetwater gave me two bags of candy with the broken pedal.

Good morning.
42F-67F partly cloudy.
Cats let out, coffee being consumed by a now awake wife who will watch Sunday Morning before we head out to breakfast and grocery shopping. Going to be such a nice day we should find somewhere to go for at least a little while.
16 Days Until Spring.

Good morning. Light rain this morning, supposed to clear this afternoon. I've started my list of things to do before we leave for our trip to Houston on Thursday. Outside of that there's not much on the agenda. Had an incident at the bird feeders yesterday, A red bellied woodpecker flew into the living room picture window after taking off from the feeder. Now I'm feeling guilty. I thought there was enough glare coming off the window to warn them off. Fortunately, the bird was just stunned and took off after a bit. I've soaped up the window to hopefully prevent further incidents. We'll see. Have a great day folks.

Eric and I will run through as much of our setlist as we can get through for Thursday's gig. This will be the one and only day we'll practice, so we need to get through as much as we can.

Hazy sunshine, springlike day.
Took 3 granddaughters to a great new playground yesterday. With the weather bouncing between wintry and springlike, kids get to experience the first day of spring multiple times.
Off to church, maybe a walk later on at a township park comprised of an overgrown farm and orchard.

Wordle, yikes.
The wind has dropped. They had to shut down roads yesterday due to blowing sand. I need to sweep out the garage, and try to fix the Mercedes hood open warning switch so I can sell it to Carmax.
Nita made chicken pot pie for dinner last night and it was delish, with left overs.

"Wordle, yikes." Lots of letters fit. I don't like puzzles like that.

Good morning, sunny and unseasonably warm here. I went for a drive toward downtown Minneapolis, wound up motoring north along the east bank of the Mississippi, aka Northeast Mpls. Historically a working-class side of town, it now is home to lots of artists and cool restaurants, as well. I have a fondness for Elsie's, a timeless bowling alley/eatery, so I stopped in for breakfast. If you order a Bloody Mary there, the beer chaser (we call them "snits") is not a 4-ounce glass of some forgettable brew, but a 7-ounce "shortie" bottle of Miller High Life, which, of course, is "The Champagne of Bottled Beer." Continuing north, I passed the beloved site of the original Grain Belt Brewery: Then I crossed over to the West Bank and passed under the Hennepin Avenue Bridge, a suspension design that the city spent at least $1 million more on than a more utilitarian plan, just to have something visually appealing: I came home through Dinkytown, hard by the "U" campus, where so many precious memories were made at the Podium and Kafe 421, two doors down. Sadly, both are now gone, as is much of the charm of D-Town, with so many bland apartment buildings thrown up, etc. Progress. Sigh.

Another wet day here, but my son has convinced me that both my dog and I need to endure the rain and get to the park for a walk. Right now it is time to play guitar a bit. I will smoke a chicken for dinner and sandwiches for the week.

I usually dip them in beeswax, tail up, then light the tail feathers first to get any potential gasses out of the way of the cooking process. But really, it takes 3 to 4 hours to smoke one. It is the easiest, tastiest way to cook chicken. Just rub it with salt and pepper . . . maybe some sage. Get the pellet smoker to 225. Pop it in and leave it in until the internal temp of the breast is 165. Pull it out, and let it rest for 10 minutes. Juicy, smokey chicken. I put some small russet potatoes in with it today and hope that they will also be done when the chicken is. If not, I will nuke them afterward. We will have green beans with it. I will cover some fresh Italian bread slices with olive oil and garlic and through them into the oven or the smoker for a bit before the chicken is ready to serve.

David, when you smoke it to 165, are the thighs done as well as the breast?

For what VERY little beer I get to drink one of these would be a treat. One of these would be even better.

David, when you smoke it to 165, are the thighs done as well as the breast? Yes, I think the thighs get to 175 when the breast is 165. David, you might give this a try. Pick up some air chilled chicken thighs from Costco. They come in multi packs that you freeze until ready to use, about five in a pack depending on their size. Rub with Ploughboys Yardbird rub and letβs sit in the ridge for 24 or so hours, covered. Set the smoker for medium heat I think I am using 325. Place the thighs skin side down and cook for about ten minutes, then check to see how dark the skin is getting. You want just a bit of char showing. Flip the thighs when you have the char, let roll for another ten minutes or so, pull them and let the rest Anit in alum tent before serving. super good. I think I got the rub from Ace hardware, but itβs available on Amazon too. www.acehardware.com/departments/home-and-decor/food-and-beverage/barbecue-sauces-and-rubs/8439606?store=17396&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_5WvBhBAEiwAZtCU741FstLCUMZlc7q-F46hJo1C4d7If_2gpZgYGViC0E1P1l7iU9b4CxoC--AQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.dsMike
