Good morning from chilly, rainy Brooklyn. I just prepared breakfast for the teen. When she leaves for school, I may just go back to bed and dream a little.
Greetings and good wishes to DrLJ and Todd on their roads to recovery.
Have a great day. I'm freaking retired.

Good morning, everyone. We're expecting a pleasant day, roughly 50-75. I think I'll start with a modest hike in the mountain preserve.
Have a good day.

Bonny is coming over today. We are not doing our usual music practice. Today will be the first day of a new journey for Bonny. I will be teaching her how to use watercolor paints.
For several years she has shared with me her dream to be able to paint. She spends time each summer at a family cabin in northern Wisconsin and shared how she sits in the evening watching the sunset and writing in her journal. She shared that she would love to learn how to be able to capture those sunsets. I would always tell her to just go to Hobby Lobby and buy some paint and paper and get started. I have been doing it so long that I obviously had forgotten how intimidating an art supply store can be and even worse, not knowing what to do with any of it.
For Christmas this year, I bought for her all of the supplies a budding watercolorist would need. Artist grade...the good stuff. I also gave her a book entitled, "Old Watercolorists Never Die, They Just Wet Their Sheets." I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that book. It is so inspirational. It was written by Joe Miller of "Cheap Joe's Art Supply" in Boone, NC. Joe was a pharmacist to took up watercolors in middle age, as did I and as is she. Joe turned his love of art into an art supply business. It is where I have shopped for over 20 years.
I am so excited to get started today and absolutely thrilled that I can be of assistance to her in helping her get started fulfilling a dream. I can't wait to see where her new journey takes her and I hope making art brings her as much joy as it has brought me.

Good morning, there's a light rain falling on the Prairie, perhaps it will alleviate our severe drought.
Dinner last night with my brother and sister, and their spouses. First time we've been together in several years. After dinner we came back to my place and watched the 4th quarter of the Iowa-LSU game.
It's Tuesday, that means music practice.

Good morning. Looks like a nice weather day here. I went out this morning to see if the crane colts have hatched, still no joy. However, I did observe this face off between a great blue heron and a little blue heron. I'm going to play at the Crystal River Library song circle this afternoon. Should be a good time. Have a great day everyone.

Rainy day. Having trouble with the knee scooter. The cast comes up too high, so I am walker- hopping & wheelchairing around the place. The wheelchair goes down the stairs really fast but it’s a bitch getting back up😳. Three more weeks of cast.

Good morning.
34F-44F. Snowing right now but that will turn to rain and possible thunderstorms this afternoon.
Shop time first then just maybe some shopping if weather allows.
Todd and LJ keep getting better. Everybody stay well, we've had enough worry lately.

Weather is pleasant today. Rocky goes in for another checkup today. He is seeing very well now. His eyes look clear and healthy. He's now tapered off the steroids, so I assume his liver is starting to recover. We'll get that checked again tomorrow. It'll be two weeks on Thurs. since his surgery, so he still has a couple more weeks of eye healing to go.

Cold, rainy, and gloomy -- matches my mood.
Workshop time whilst Dawn is out, then some errands. Might take a very short hike in a very small nature preserve.

The couch at the bottom of the stairs stops my descent quickly.

I don’t know. I’ll wait for the judges ruling. There could be points deducted for screaming on the way down. Mike

Long day at the office. 4 box holders (mail that goes to every house on a route) slowed me WAY down. Palestine Lake is near the end of my route. It is home to scores of swans. Also scores of gulls. Also, yesterday, QUITE unusually, I saw a couple of snow geese out on the lake on their way to somewhere else. The land on the other side of lake is elevated (maybe 30' or so) such that the view is looking down at the lake. It's really striking to see swans all over the lake and gulls flying above them but below the view from the other side. It's a symphony in white.
