You should know that Dub is an anomaly here... he gets paid to play! Iowa State Fair kind of money.
The only other pro we have is Concertinagirl. Her duo is booked solid playing polkas and waltzes all across the state of Wisconsin, which, if you know anything about Wisconsin, is pretty remarkable. That entire state is obsessed with early 20th century musicals. Making a go of it playing polkas and such in Wisconsin?... Amazing!

I forgot, we do have one other pro. Rob gets paid not to play. It's a gig.
(if you are ever near Houghton, IN, you can catch him most Saturdays on the corner of Willoughby and 4th by the new Walmart (with his sign, "You Pay or I Play").

It is no secret that reading increases your vocabulary I would readily agree with that. Being a reader, I come across new and intersting words frequently. When I try to use them, however, they are often mispronounced, for which I am readily corrected. My excuse: I'm a reader, not a speaker. Welcome back, Rockerbob. We'll enjoy having your company again. When you mispronounce a word it means you most likely learned it by reading. I don't mind being corrected. I'd rather know the proper pronunciation. But if they get too smug I ask them to spell it.

Between being paid by guitar companies not to be seen holding their guitars, being paid not to play at all, and being paid not to wear clothing advertising gyms and fitness centers, I have a pretty decent side income for my retirement. (And, that's actually the new new Walmart. We outgrew our first Walmart and eventually outgrew our second Walmart. The latest is a Walmart Supercenter. So far, it's been big enough.)

Good to see you here, Keith. I still have the CD you and Lewis (sorry to read about your parting ways) recorded some years ago and it does get spin time. I hope you are well, after our last email exchange a couple of years ago. It's good to be here. I recently found a card you sent me in 2002 and it reminded me of you and a few others. Here we are again 22 years later.

Keith, Welcome to the party. I do not recollect receiving the initiation bottle of Jamesons. You can keep posting for a week, but if the bottle doesn't arrive by May 18 (my birthday) you will not be allowed to post anymore. Don't believe most of the stuff on this board, especially stuff from Cosmic Wonder, kenlarsson, t-bob, Dub, coachdoc, Cornflake, docfroon, paleo, dradtke, factorychef, Fiddlerina, theevan, PaulKay, brucemacneill, Cribbs, Hobson, concertinagirl, Dave Poor, Millring, Marshall, Russell Letson, epaul, billhammond, majorminor, TKennedy, drlj, Shannon, Marty, John B, aquaduct, howard lee, theevan, james, and epaul. (epaul is listed twice because he is especially unbelievable). Woo Hoo! I didn't make the list, so, apparently you can believe most of the stuff I say. Which, of course, would be a mistake.

Woo Hoo. RockerBob, and maybe even Froon. How cool is that ? ! ? ! Both of us are old farts now. I just look young. :-) The way I see it, you are young. My oldest daughter turned 60 this year. I’m like Carter Stanley at 35, Old And In The Way(Carter only lived to be 46)

My memory is poor, but I hope to remember some of the fun of 20 years ago. I do remember a few names. Hopefully more memories will float to the surface. You won’t remember me. This year marks my 20th year here. Millring invited me here from the Mudcat Café and he’s been shunned here ever since.

Long time no see. Howzit? Very long time. Life is different. Getting old kinda sucks. Life is a cabaret but I can't afford admission. A guitar is always within reach. I could be worse. They told me “Cheer up, things could be worse.” so I cheered up and, sure enough, things got worse.

Doc here. Addled by technology? Aye. Tried to attach a recent photo and it was rejected as "File too big". I know I have added some mass, but getting an administrative scolding? That's just dark. Froon, Doc Froon Welcome, Doc. Your photo reminds me of our own Doc Rogers (coachdoc) who performed in Colorado a lot back in the day. As far as I know, Doc Rogers is our only prize winning guitar player. This photo is now ten years old.

Both Keith and Doc must predate my arrival here so I have no memories of them, fond or otherwise, but welcome.

Of course. I’m a big fan of theirs too. They were fans of the Stanley Brothers, naturally, and their band name came from the Stanley Brothers’ recitation number.

R Bob, it was a joke. Apparently not a very good one. A oblique reference to getting kicked of the AG forum for mocking their guitar cruise. Mike will try to make. His jokes better in the future.

This year marks my 20th year here. Millring invited me here from the Mudcat Café and he’s been shunned here ever since. Or me as Dub invited me here about 10 years ago. Oddly enough, they still love Dub and just shun me instead. Former electrical engineer that now repairs clocks in Amana. I own more guitars than I can keep track of including Acoustics, Electrics, and Archtops. Build custom guitars (though I'm not nearly as prolific as TKennedy) and custom microphones under the Flying Mad Dog label. I like stupid / silly songs the best, but play most anything that comes to mind.

Well, as long as we are doing introductions, I don't know how I got here, I don't even play guitar. I'm a trombone player. I was googling for LK slide oil when I ended up getting LJ's toasted squirrel recipie over in the Soundhole culinary section. Well, I had just trapped a couple of the buggers in the garage, so I figured, what the heck. And it was GOOD.
Been here ever since.

Hmm, Rockerbob? Interesting! We were just listening to a fellow named Rockerbob here last week. Fancy that, two Rockerbobs in one week! Listen this Rockerbob, he's real good! I might not be the only Rockerbob, but I am the only rockerbob.com My song "George" is, in my opinion, the best thing I ever wrote/recorded. Wow, this is amazingly wonderful! World-class!
