Nice page Gene.....good job. After listening to Angels, I need to up my recording levels some.....not much signal to work with. How does bit rate affect the mp3? What I sent was 128 bit (which is what SoundClick required), and I saw where you told FP that 192 was best..... 160 is better than 128, at 192 will give a nice sound for a mp3. It all depends on what you want to have it sound like. All my mp3's that I post are 192. If you want to send me an update you can, once again there is no deadline for this Take Care, Gene

Who is Kari Sealur... ? I'm listening to it now. Very, very nice. I think I want to be her groupie.
Don, I've heard yours before & really like it. I think you're asking more about volume level than sound quality. Resubmitting at 192k will (or at least should) sound better, but it won't necessarily sound louder. If you still have access to the original tracks, you'd want to do a hotter final mix before recording to CD.
EDIT/ADD: Kari Sealund. Now I see it. Don't know how I missed it up top yesterday.

Gene, do you have my version of Sllent Night from two years ago? If not, I can dig it up. You did the (re)mastering.
I am planning on recording another song this year, really. I have one mic with an XLR connection and one with a 1/8" connection. If the little 8 track is working, I'll give it a shot. But I'm thinking I might want a mic with a USB connection instead.

Bill, I drove a car with one of those toaster thingies in the radio (a 1979 Mustang) until 1990.

Kari, absolutely. I really like your voice & I'm hoping to hear more posts from you.
What part of Illinois are you from? I'm in Carol Stream.
Before you answer, you should know that after hearing your song, I do want to have your baby.

Oh, yes . . .
I'm going to try to get at least one more song recorded this weekend. This may not be the right order, but I'm hoping to get to:
Let it Snow Winter Wonderland What Child Is This
If you're serious about wanting to do something together, I can email you a copy of a song as I finish it so you can review it & then let me know if it's something you want in on. If you do, we'll figure out the details as we go. If not, I'll just post it here. All by myself.
Note: I think you have to email me first -- I didn't see your email listed.

Well, I am always pretty willing to sing a little harmony, ask Marshall. I have Garageband on my mac so I think I can just import your mp3 and record some harmony to see if you like it.....you might prefer to sing all by yourself

I recorded Over the Rainbow today and put it up on my Soundclick page. Did it at 192. But when I went to record the CD, I found the record level was only on about 65%, so I bumped it up on Rainbow and it came out better. My Soundclick page is at www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=769398

Don, I added one of two comments (on BP) about taking your finalized CD to your computer and boosting the levels with Audacity. My comment is Cubase specific, but if Audacity has the same feature, it'll get your volume exacty where you want it.
Oh. The comments are on your "Over the Rainbow" thread.
