"These are quite novel ideas to me." That's 'cause you don't pay attention. I missed the part where FDR caused WWII, where people didn't get voting rights after 1965 and also the part where people do not still receive Social Security? Well FDR goaded Japan into attacking so he could get us in the war, and then didn't tell Pearl Harbor about the attack he had prior knowledge of. LBJ's war on poverty, we have more black poverty now than before LBJ and we have tripled the single parent families in the black community creating the "baby daddy culture".

One thing that I have noticed is that many people seem to find it a lot easier to rip on Obama (no longer President) and Hillary (never was President) than to address or defend the words or behavior of the current occupant of the Oval Office. I've addressed my satisfaction with Trump numerous times (to the frustration of most of the rest of the board- hey, most of them are survivors of the 60's so I can understand). I think Trump's doing a great job. I expect he'll be easily re-elected (and after that it will become a dynasty when Ivanka spends 8 years as POTUS). The actual mechanics of what he's doing will likely be historic. As far as his bombastic theatrics, it's about time somebody took the gloves off with the left. Even this issue- somebody's threatening the US with nuclear weapons- and all the idiot liberal talk is about Trump's bad language. Spare me. If you'd like to go back in my history there's plenty of detail there to chew on. You're welcome to it. I'm not satisfied with Trump, he's not destroying the Washington elite nearly fast enough. While he can't close the Dept of Education he can refuse to hire anyone to fill positions in an unconstitutional Dept. and refuse to give them any money for electricity, water, paper, etc. Same with the rest of the Depts that aren't listed in Section 1 Article 8.

I bought a 2 foot aluminum pipe wrench at Lowes which made removing the cylinder from the seat end much easier. I don't even remove the chair plate. And I don't buy the cheapest cylinders. Good ones are well worth the extra cost. I think I'll get a pipe wrench for the next time I have to do it. Agree about the cheap cylinders, they might be fine if you are Chris' size, 100 lbs. Did you get bigger wheels?

I think he wrote the early protest songs because that's what you wrote at that time. Lots of people were writing protest songs. That time passed and Dylan wrote what was the right songs to be writing at the time.

Well it's done. Just like having a new $200 chair for $39. + $24 for new wheels. But that wasn't need it to make it good as new. That makes it better than new.

Well mine works just fine as far as the lift but I like the idea of bigger wheels to get it to roll easier. Going from the standard 2 in wheels to the 3 in wheels made a big difference. And lift cylinders do wear out. I used to buy those cheap secretary chairs (to get no arms) but the cylinders wouldn't last more than a year and mostly went out about 6 mo. I finally sprang for a good chair with arms that fold up. Cylinder in it lasted about 2.5 yrs before it started acting up and my cheapness lasted another 2 yrs before I rebuilt it.

Well it's done. Just like having a new $200 chair for $39.
Changing to the bigger wheels not hard and now it rolls better with out me having to lift my weight off to get it to roll.
The hydraulic lift cylinder on the other hand was a mother. They are press fit at both ends. The bottom wasn't too bad flip the wheels over and use something for a punch - I used a old 13/16th socket and - smash it with a big ass hammer. Popped right out.
The top end was a mother. Would be easy if you could get to it. But the pusher for the button is in the way, so you are working with a small punch on the edge of the press fit. Took 45 min and a lot of cuss words to get that SOB out.
Reassembly was a snap. Screw the chair plate back to chair. Drop cylinder in hole in base, set chair on cylinder and sit on it to press fit.
Don't throw away that desk chair when the cylinder gives out. You can get cylinders as cheap as $11 I paid $39 for the super HD one. I think those $11 ones are rated for 150 lbs. but the HD one was rated to 300 lbs.

Donald Sutherland was Hawkeye, Elliott Gould was Trapper John. Alan Alda is a terrible actor and screwed up MASH, if not for the supporting cast it would have been a one season flop. Which one are you? Siskel or Ebert? I ain't dead yet so I can't be either.

It has been brought to my attention that, unlike lame ass facebook, on the Soundhole we can simultaneously like, dislike, AND LOL a post. It is the mark of genius to be capable of holding two or more opposing points of view in your mind at the same time. I like that the Soundhole thinks well of our aptitude for genius. Genius? I thought that was schizophrenia. Yes it was, no it wasn't, Yes it was, no it wasn't, Yes it was, no it wasn't, Yes it was, no it wasn't,

...but then we would never have enjoyed Alan Alda's witty repartee with Wayne Rogers. Donald Sutherland was Hawkeye, Elliott Gould was Trapper John. Alan Alda is a terrible actor and screwed up MASH, if not for the supporting cast it would have been a one season flop.
