My hands were in a bad way, and getting worse, when I visited PaulK and Linda and he pushed his Larrivee baritone into my lap and started recording. The "Speechless" version of this number is better in many ways, but I love the moment of this capture, especially the ending, which differs slightly from the CD version. Bill, that is so pretty. Mike Love the way you make that guitar sound.

It was very happy. Grandkids, kids, sister in-law. Now only a couple of weeks to the big deal.

One year instead of stuffing the bird with breadcrumbs, etc., I precooked a couple of extra drumsticks and stuffed them in there with some apple slices. No fighting over dark meat that year. I ran across this last week in the Strib: Don't hold the mayo: The secret to crispy skin? Chef Adam Eaton insists that it's mayonnaise. "I know that people like to rub butter on a turkey, but I like mayonnaise. It gives the turkey an even browning. It doesn't run down the side of the turkey, it sticks to it a little better than butter. And it keeps the inside extremely moist. I use tons of mayonnaise and rub it all over the bird, just a thin coating. It's kind of gross, for sure, but it works. You have to make sure that the skin is absolutely dry before you rub in the mayonnaise, and you have to use real mayonnaise." That means step away from the Miracle Whip.

Take them turkeys out of the freezer today! 10 degrees this morning. F150 started. Looking for 80amp bus fuses for our dust collector. Done. Cold clear day today, emphasis on cold!

The Boston Globe sports page noted Dick’s passing this Sunday.
RIP Dick Pleasants of WGBH and WUMB public radio lore. Born in 1947 and raised in Groton, Pleasants played in the first Groton Little League game during Tercentenary Week in 1957 with teammates Bill Shaughnessy and Peter Gammons.
Our beloved leader of SAMW.

My Mum introduced me to him when I was very young. I appreciated him from the get go. Just too funny not to.

Does anyone here listen to podcasts and have any they recommend? Now that I have a commute and I’m taking more walks, I need some aural distractions. I’m not really interested in true crime or politics (which apparently make up 90% of podcasts), but other than that I’m open to ideas. I think I may have subscribed to a few but I don’t listen to them. I mostly don’t care to hear opinions and generally prefer reading to listening. I don’t relish the thought of being influencerized. Heh.

I've long been a fan of this songwriter. Here's a more than just adequate cover. youtu.be/E5O39nZB9sAI took a songwriting session at OTSFM with Susan Werner. It was fun. She was nice. She liked my Nick Lucas guitar. She said, "That fits you." Marshall. What is OTSFM?

Don’t know about pros, but I’ve been alerted and will be performing. Heh. Performance Rights Organizations (PRO) such as ASCAP and BMI. They’ve been known to shut down open mics and businesses for non-payment. They shut down our open mic at the ice cream shop in town, bummer.
