THAT is completely wacked!!!! I understand this guy's need to express himself creatively, but some of that is just plain irresponsible. Sure, the guy's got talent. But you can't tell me he's not going to inspire hundreds of kids to seriously hurt themselves by being showoff.

Here comes the harrumpphh comment: our local public and private properties have chronic property damage from the skateboarders using planters, benches, walls, etc. as their personal obstacle courses. They tear them up. I can only imaging how many damaged railings, walls, plants, roofs, etc. this guy caused in his quest to become an absolutely breathtaking acrobat.

Incredible!
I love the shots where passersby then look down after him.

They tear them up. I can only imaging how many damaged railings, walls, plants, roofs, etc. this guy caused in his quest to become an absolutely breathtaking acrobat. Plants I'll grant you, but it's pretty tough to damage a railing or anything concrete or wood with soft compound rubber tires inflated to about 25 psi. This guy learned to ride like this in skate parks. Danny is one of the world's top trials riders (yes, it is a recognized sport that's been around for twenty years or so). Oddly enough, it started out as a mountain bike sport to deal with terrain that you can't just ride through, but is more of an urban sport now. As for setting an example that others will get hurt following, well, OK. There's truth to that. The first part of the video is certainly proof that getting hurt is part of the game. I've certainly seen a lot more dangerous and poorly thought out stuff out there to copycat. Sometimes cool stuff is risky, sometimes it is stupid. I'd put this more in the former. At around 3:00 the tree two axis flip is pretty fantastic. Paul

If young guys didn't do this there would be precious little to show on Funniest Home Videos and the like.

Paul, a lot of what he does, granted in a MUCH boild down manner, is perfect for negotiating tough terrain on a mountain bike. Clipped in with a set of egg beaters, a good appreciation for gravity, some nads and a good bike, and there is a lot one can accomplish on bad terrain.
I have egg beaters, a good appreciation for gravity, and a good bike......

Watching that guy, it struck me how the nads take a beating.

Wow.
I noticed there wasn't a bike seat....probably a good thing, I'd think! But wouldn't his butt hit the rear tire on some of those landings? And do those bikes have shocks of any kind?

I looked at the video again. Seems there is no suspension on the bike either. It's a seat-less rigid framed bike. He also appears to be able to pedal in both directions.
