Good morning/or late night greetings. Kind of a late one for me. A little insomnia. Need to get a little sleep so I can be awake for an expected a visit from Doug and Chris later this morning.
OK, here comes the weather comment - temperate here, high 70s, and doubt there will be much humidity. Thank goodness I'm not in my hometown of NYC. Yesterday afternoon at Yankee gametime - 102 F plus high humidity - yikes. Can't imagine watching, let alone playing. It was almost a sellout at the Stadium - NY fans are dedicated.
My most strenuous activity this weekend will be string changing. ;D
Have good weekends, folks.

Good morning. Mary's sisters will head back north today. Had a nice supper here, clams, shrimp, steak etc. last night here at the house rather than going out. I played and sang for them and no one got sick so that was good. Tried swimming but the pool temp was 94 so staying in the A/C seemed like a better idea. Supposed to have another day or two of hot and then it cools back into the 80s. Can't wait.

Morning. It rained again last night and we're supposed to see more throughout the weekend. Coupled with this cool 90 degree weather, I should very soon I'll be back to complaining about having to cut the lawn. Yay.

Bleah. The Jameson's last night left me with a headache this morning. I can't drink a thing it seems.
I successfully mowed, trimmed & blew the yard yesterday in about 3 hours...so today I have the unpleasant job of firing the lawn service.
But first I'm taking an elderly friend to breakfast, followed by a trip to the farmer's market with our Swiss houseguests.
A good day.

Good morning all.
It is Saturday so I must have to work. I do, but not until 1:30.
Gonna get some pickin' in before I head out.
My Mom is still in the hospital. They are doing a heart catherization on Monday. Then the doctor will decide what course he is going to take. He told her he wants her to rest over the weekend.

Mornin'.....
Leaving for OKC in a while. When I went out to the living room with coffee, Barb greets me with the wonderful news that with no budget resolution the FAA has been furloughed. Wondering how that affects air travel?
Otherwise, I'm ready. Taking laptop, so I'll be checking in from Swannanoa.
Cheers!

Good Morning Good People
I'm too young to bitch about the weather.
Another night at the Silver Derby, the local dive, with our kids and nephew and nieces and friends. Too damn loud. I think the Derbv has a certain amount of cachet with the local young adults because it's a dive with a tacky name where the decor hasn't changed since the 1950s.
Another niece and her hubby are coming over this morning so we can rehearse music for another nephew's* wedding next Saturday. Niece and hubby are a classically trained bassist and cellist, and they want their clumsy uncle to strum along. Yes friends, we are doing the infamous Pachelbel's Canon in D.... D-A-Bm-F#m-G-D-G-A endlessly whilst 8 bridesmaids process. Also doing Be Thou My Vision.
Have a melodious Saturday one and all.
*In case you haven't noticed, we have a veritable horde of nephews and nieces, many of whom are busily reproducing to yield a horde of grandnieces and grandnephews.

Little bit of rain here in the south Chicago suburbs over night. It feels cooler this morning but it is still muggy. We had a heavy rain for about 15 minutes or so yesterday. I am dreaming of 72 degrees with about 65 at night. I am old enough to bitch about the weather but too young to talk about how much better it was when I was a kid.

It's a beautiful sunny, hot, day here in upper whatever. I've been watering the lawns so the garden looks good, but, holy hannah, we've been without rain for weeks! I'm not too young to bitch about the weather, but it doesn't help much. Today is the 29th anniversary of the birth of my girl. Despite the ups and downs, and all the growing pains, I feel blessed by her presence in my life. She has all the characteristics of a good human being, not the least of which is to love and loyalty. We will have her father and a bunch of friends for dinner and celebrate her.

Well, I am sitting here on pins and needles as I track the girls' flight, which is dodging Chicagoland storms by heading over to Des Moines, where there also is a cell, and racing to get into MSP before a HUGE system arrives. I guess they could always divert to Rochester, which looks clear. From there, a bus ride of less than two hours.
It DOES NOT look good for the huge U2 concert tonight at the U Stadium, where 60,000 fans are expected, including my nice and her hubby ...
Very gray out there, I have the lights on .....

Promising to be another muggy day. Starting out at 70 F and 76% humidity. I wish those clouds would let loose with some rain.
Today's activity is the funeral for the husband of my friend and fellow vocal quartet singer. First a service at the church, then an outdoor military service at noon. Then the reception at her house. A long and sad day. I hope she holds up OK. They were married close to 30 years.

Good morning. Packing today. Debating whether to just throw out the kitchen or pack it. Seriously. Tomorrow I go to Ikea to go shopping for a dining room table and some chairs. Seems like a weird thing to do before moving, but I like Ikea furniture and there are no Ikea stores nearby Indianapolis. Shipping costs for Ikea can be huge, so why not do the shipping myself in a moving truck? I can't believe how many guitars I have. I think the total is 11. There are six of them within reach (or almost within reach) from where I am on the couch. That means 11 guitars to bring inside every night on the move, 11 guitars to try to fit into the truck cab and the car interior and out of the back of the truck. Based on the thermometer tests that Fingerplucked, ePaul and I did a few summers ago, it might not get as hot as one might think in the back of the truck while it's moving (you'd be surprised how much the wind will keep a car trunk cool, so... ), so I may hazard putting the electrics in there. That means no stops for lunch or dinner. I don't like moving. Glad the girls are showing up today, Bill! One way or another, they'll end up at your place safe and sound. And happy birthday to yours, Sekh.

And there's more of those yellow blobs training in from the west. You can have some of our rain. But i don't think it'll pass through there. . . . , Today is the 29th anniversary of the birth of my girl. Thanks. I just remembered I have a guitar over at a friend's house, so the total is 12.
