Good morning, folks.
Having a PB, B(utter), & J with a glass of milk to end Sat/start Sun.
Sunday's activities will include lawn mowing, leaf pickup - can't burn 'em, gutter cleanout, fence repair, cutting back crazy ass blackberry vines. All fun stuff...
Then to reward myself some selective pro football watching - hoping we can get the Cowboy/Patriots televised here, but the schedule right now says Browns/Raiders - cripes! Broadcasts have been known to change last minute - here's hopin'. The early game, Niners v Lions could be a good one. It hurt to give up the NFL Sunday ticket after 10 years, but couldn't justify the money this year.
Here's wishing all y'all a good Sunday with your favorite activities, friends, family, music, food.
I'm really enjoying Pandora (I have it on laptop, desktop, iPad, and cell phone, and just realized I have it on my TV thru the DVD player) - getting re-introduced to forgotten performers, and finding some new ones as well. Example - Norman Blake. Fixed that, he's got his own station now. Way cool.
Over and out.

Good morning. I guess baseball's over since the Tigers lost, I can't really root for Texas and don't care about the National League. I'll have to root for the Cowboys this afternoon though. Going to the golf course this morning to see if I can do 9 holes, with a cart, before I can't walk anymore. I've mostly been off my feet for a week and they don't hurt right now. This could be a dumb move but what else is new? Have a good Sunday.

quoted from Bruce, "I'll have to root for the Cowboys this afternoon though." Bruce, WTF? Cowboys? You're a Red Sox fan. Celtics? Bruins? Patriots? Cowboys? ?? Did you get hooked into that "America's Team" crap? Or do you like that 180ft TV? Cowboys?

Unfortunately, as a former Detroiter, I rooted for the Tigers once the Red Sox were out of it because I rooted for the Red Sox. It's related to my ability to move the stock market. This ability was first noted when I was able to control the weather using the top on my convertible back in the 80s. Incidentally, I rooted for the Yankees too. Sorry.

Some folks just don't like Texas. I asked a guy once why he was so put off by Texans and Texas sports teams. He said, "Well, Sir, ya know how America is to the rest of the world? No body likes us? Well Texas is like that, only inside the country."
Soldiers - they say funny stuff. Me? I'm pulling for St Louis.
Not much on today. Hope you all are well.

Morning. Bears and Vikings tonight. No matter who wins, it won't be something to brag about.

I had no idea there was so much Texas bias in America. But it explains a lot. I wasn't born there, but I was raised there. And I'm a Cowboys fan too. All I can say is "If ya ain't from Texas, you just don't understand".

Good morning. I'll be watching football too, messing around with my guitars and ukes and being lazy in general. The cool weather is slowly starting to happen here in Florida and life is good.
Have a great day everyone.

Kinda off thread here - but there's a first time for everything. I haven't been to the new Cowboy stadium, however... Anyone think that the place could be used to show movies (ie: Avatar), with premium seats, delivered food and booze, and imagine what could be charged for luxury suites. If I owned the place, I'd give it a shot. Who knows, maybe they're doing it already. And maybe it's already booked with college games, soccer, etc.

I remember in the 1970's when The Summit opened in Houston. It was the cats meow. Now it's a church.

Fatstrat, thanks for the link to Chris Rea. Unless that's his only good song, he's another find for me. I added him to my Pandora stations. It started with Windy Town, which is musically very similar to Road to Hell. When it started I thought it was Road to Hell.

Morning all. I have a big day of doing nothing planned. My kind of day. I did the leaves yesterday and today it is raining just enough to make it easy to not go outside and do more work. We went to a big bonfire eatathon last night with a lot a friends and a bunch of strangers. More food, beer, booze and dessert than any 500 people should have. It was cold out but the bonfire at least allowed us to pretend we were warm even though we were not. Nothing like a cold beer while you freeze to death and watch the beautiful night sky in near total darkness.

Good morning... awoke to a head cold I don't need... off to Alex again this afternoon.
I understand Texas a little bit... haven't played there in a while, but I spent a lot of time there in the 70's and 80's. My gut feeling is that Texas is an independent country with loose ties to the US of A.

Morn'n
Lots to do today, kitchen is a mess, lots of boxes from my Podium shop are sitting in the living room and need to be taken down to my home shop. My truck is full of stuff to go to the home shop and I need to get that out so I can go buy materials to build benches in the new shop. Sometime during all this shifting stuff around I"m going to the pistol range.

Another Chris Rea fav of mine is this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o3IdhYIkEgHe's way more popular in Europe than here. He did have a hit in the 1970's. Hard to believe it's the same guy. Remember the piano song "Fool if you think it's over"?

Good Morning Good People
Cloud and cool with a little bit of rain. Off to church thence to Sunday chores and office time. My prospects for a late-career escape from my present work situation aren'tlooking good.
BTW I like Texas. Friendly people and lots of fun stuff to do in the cities and out in the country. My sister was a naturalized Texan before she became a naturalized Cheesehead. I have fourhalf-Texan nephews, one of whom has returned to his state of birth and joined theTexas National Guard. (He was sure he wouldn't be deployed. He was wrong)
Have a peaceful Sunday one and all.
